Hello! My name is Kira Hooks. I'm a soul/jazz/folk singer/songwriter based in the SF Bay Area. I attended school at the LA College of Music for Vocal Performance and have gained a lot of experience in the past several years touring and performing in venues, house concerts, weddings, and corporate events. I'm currently working towards being a full-time artist/musician. For your event, I can operate as a solo, duo, trio, or full band.
Kira has a beautiful voice to be sure. Unfortunately, her voice was muted either by their weak sound system or the piano player overshadowed her a little too much. When I asked some of my guests after the event how they liked their music they replied , what music? I’m thinking, having an outside venue didn’t help carry the sound well. I recommend an inside venue so you could hear how beautifully she sings.

Honestly it was a great experience, I asked her to learn a few Spanish songs for our event and she was more than willing. The songs were great and honestly we all loved her singing and her energy. We are now BIG fans and will definitely rehire. I would Definitely recommend.

Kira was AMAZING to work with. She was very responsive until the day of and attentive to the details and songs that we were interested in incorporating. She sent us a sneak peak preview of the band rehearsing ahead of time which was awesome as it gave us a sense of how great they were going to sound for the big day. Her voice is INCREDIBLE and the band was TIGHT. They managed to impress all of our guests (many of whom were musicians too!) No doubt that choosing Kira was the best decision for the big day. EVERYONE got up on the dance floor because the groove was kickin and her voice and charisma were on point. Thankful she also agreed to play for the ceremony as well and she did a beautiful job. If your looking for timeless feel good music for your event that will speak to everyone, Kira is your girl!

Bay Area based singer/songwriter, Kira Hooks, is an independent and free-spirited soul that refuses to be put in a box. She was born in Houston, TX and raised overseas in The Netherlands, Nigeria, Scotland, and China. Kira's musical versatility is reflective of her exposure and curiosity to cultural differences and emotional similarities. She is always in search of what, ultimately, brings us together and what feels like honest work. This has lead her to remain conversational and light-hearted in her writing process. Through the humbling inspiration of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Antonio Carlos Jobim, (link hidden)ie, and Lianne La Haves, she has grown more in love with her path and is in constant development of her musical abilities. After graduating from the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, CA (2013), she's released two albums, four EPs, and four singles...and moved to Nashville and NYC! She's also been an active member of Concerts In Your Home. Her new full length record, 'Love AtLas(t)' (produced by Jon Estes), was recently released in May 2020 on all streaming platforms.
