I’ve been lucky to tour with all kinds of artists, from big names to smaller acts, and I specialize in Pop, Jazz, R&B, Rock and CCM. Koosha Hakimi is an Iranian American musician and composer who is known for his fresh and innovative approach to playing drums and piano and composing story telling music.
He started playing piano at age six and later on picked up drums in highschool. He moved to the U.S when he was only nineteen years old and was able to adjust and thrive quickly in the local music scene.
Transferring from a Palomar community college in San Marcos CA, Koosha graduated from UC Irvine in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz Drums where he studied with
world-class musicians such as Jason Harnell (Maynard Ferguson), Kei Akagi ( Miles Davis) and Darek Oles (Brad Mehldau) to name a few. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree at CSU Northridge.
Since then he has been touring and performing with local and international artists in U.S, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Koosha has performed with jazz artists such as Kei Akagi(Miles Davis) and Christopher Hollyday (Brad Mehldau) and international Persian artists such as Sijal, Shohreh Solati, and Donya Dadrasan to name a few.
I know a lot of rock and radio cover songs, CCM songs, and jazz standards. Always open to learn your setlist
