We had a small party on the water and decided steel drums would go with our travel/beach theme. This was absolutely and understatement; this band created a vibe that our guests and even other patrons of the venue LOVED. No one wanted them to stop, including us!
They were professional before, during and after the event. Extremely easy to work with and communication was seamless. We will definitely be using this band again and referring to our friends!

About
Kutterzband is a versatile group of musicians that specialize in many genres of Caribbean, Indo-Caribbean and American music including Top 40, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Rock ,Chutney, Reggae, Soca, and Bollywood Film Songs. The group was founded in the 90s by leader and Saxophone virtuoso Gerald Rampersad who is well renowned as a pioneer in the Caribbean Music Industry. Responsible for many popular sounds and arrangements of artists like Super Blue, Rikki Jai and the authentic, original sound of JMC Triveni, Gerald became a solo artist and founded the Kutterzband. After Gerald’s passing in February of 2019 the group was taken over by Gerald’s son Jason Rampersad. The band is a 3 person group consisting of Jason(Steel Drums/Guitar), Shamelah (Lead Vocals), and Teresa (Lead Vocals/Percussion).
Throughout its tenure, the Kutterzband have done many public live performances including for Lehman College, South Street Seaport, The Village of Great Neck, the Village of Bayville, and the New York Hall of Science. They are one of the favorite local acts at popular Caribbean food and music venue Singh’s Roti Shop in Queens, NY and are the only band to have curated a Program for the Big Apple Calypso Revue in Brooklyn, NY under then director Dawad Phillip. The Kutterzband is no stranger to television, making several appearances on the local, popular ITV program “Caribbean Spotlight” with appearances from 2001 to the programs ending in 2010. Caribbean music as we know it today, has become a fusion of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Calypso, African and Caribbean beats. If you are looking for the authentic sound and spice of Caribbean music, then the Kutterzband is perfect for your event!
