In my 20+ year career, I've performed at numerous weddings, private and corporate events, museum openings, film festivals, and special occasions, from the west coast to the east, as well as internationally.
My repertoire is extensive, encompassing standards, contemporary tunes, jazz, Latin/bossa nova, Americana, European (gypsy) swing, some classical, and even a few originals, on acoustic, electric, and steel string guitar. We hired Alex for our Christmas party and he was great. He has a wide array of songs and was willing to customize his catalog for us. Because I want to be sure that the music creates the perfect ambience for your unique event, I tailor performances to your venue and preferences. If there are specific tunes you'd like to hear, don't feel you're restricted to any song list. Just give me the song titles, and I'll incorporate them into the set.
In my 20+ year career as a guitarist, I’ve played almost every type of music—jazz, blues, rock, funk, Latin, contemporary, Americana, gypsy swing—with hundreds of noted musicians and bands, including the legendary Kenny Drew Jr., Twinkle, Harmonious Wail, and the Motet.
And I’ve played just about every type of venue imaginable: clubs, theaters, festivals, private parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, Broadway touring companies—you name it—from the west coast to the east, as well as internationally.
While guitar is my main instrument, I’m also proficient on bass and banjo, and even play a little trumpet, drums, and keyboards when the mood strikes.
Originally from New York, I have a degree in Guitar Performance from UC Denver, and credits toward a Masters in Jazz Studies at UT Austin, where I attended on full scholarship.
