By working closely with all of our couples and clients, we create a customized music experience that best reflects their story and vision for their day. With our ever-increasing repertoire list, from classical to contemporary, and customizable ensembles, including duet (flute or violin and cello), flute and string trio or quartet, we guide our clients through the process of creating a beautiful setting for their most treasured moments.
1. Share your vision
Let's kick things off with a quick chat! Start by filling out our contact form and we'll be in touch with some recommendations we think might fit your vision. Then, let's jump on a call so we can see if we are the best fit for you and to find the best package to fit your needs. Once your agreement is signed, we'll send you over your very own music planning portal, complete with a timeline, detailed questionnaire, and our entire music library for you to start to customize your setlist!
2. Get creative with song selection
Once you have your own music planning portal, you can begin to customize your entire set list. I know you're inbox is already exploding so no need to worry about important details getting lost– With all your event info stored in one place you and your scheduled musicians are completely in sync! For a ceremony, we include up-to three custom requests not in our library – We have a brilliant in-house arranger so we can pretty much make anything happen ;) . We're betting that you haven't planned a weddings or event like this before, luckily we have so we'll be there every step of the way to help with questions and offer suggestions!
3. Enjoy your live soundtrack!
On the day of your wedding or event, we'll arrive early with and dressed for the occasion! Our default is dress code is classy black, but can accommodate requests :) For your wedding ceremony, we'll start the music 30 minutes before your ceremony to set the mood as your guests arrive! We play acoustically for ceremonies but if your guest list and acoustic setting requires it, we'll bring in our state-of-the-art amplification system for your cocktail to get the levels just right to keep everyone having fun! All that's left for you is to have the time of your life!
Laura is an award-winning flutist located in New York’s Hudson Valley region with over ten years of experience as the soundtrack to romantic weddings, elegant corporate functions, lively parties and sophisticated dinners.
In addition, Laura is founder and director of Bacchanalia Baroque Ensemble, an early music group based in New York City. She has performed extensively throughout the US and Europe, and is highly regarded as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and educator.
A versatile musician, Laura is equally adept on both modern and historical flutes and has appeared with the American Classical Orchestra, the New York Collegium, the Grand Tour Orchestra, the New York Continuo Collective, the Tafelmusic Festival Orchestra, and at the Longy and Amherst early music festivals on baroque flute, and with the Smithfield Chamber Orchestra, the Schiller Institute Orchestra, the Westchester Symphony, JetLag Festival, Teatro Lirico D’Europa, Summer Stars Orchestra, the Garden State Philharmonic, Mid-Atlantic Opera, Green Mountain Opera Festival, Lyric Opera of New York and the New York Chamber Players on modern flute and piccolo.
Laura is the recipient of several grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Northern Manhattan Arts Association, and the McIntyre Foundation for her work with Bacchanalia, and was selected to perform live on WHRB, the Harvard University radio station prior to her debut at the Boston Early Music Festival in 2002.
She has recorded music in many genres, including with R&B artist Eric Brown, “Shine” and “Are We Really,” (Brown Music, 2019, 2021) and on Bacchanalia Baroque “Joseph Gehot: Six Trios” (Eroica, 2012) of colonial-era music for flute and strings.
An enthusiastic educator, she is on the faculty at the Westport School of Music in Westport, CT, and is past flute instructor at Brooklyn College, CUNY, the JCC in Tenafly, NJ, and the Amati Conservatory in Tenafly. She is guest lecturer and coach at New York University and teaches privately in Manhattan.
OUTDOOR EVENTS: Due to the extraordinary value of their instruments, the Performers may not be able to perform outdoors in the case of inclement weather, including rain or cold temperatures (below 65 degrees). This decision is at the sole discretion of the Performers. If outdoors, Performer must be in a shaded area to ensure the protection of their instruments from harsh effects of the sun.
For acoustic ensemble only chairs are required. For amplification, power outlets are required, as are shelter from sun and precipitation.
