Lisa Evans Jazz Duo

When you hire me to perform at your restaurant, club or event, we will arrive an hour before start time to set up our equipment. We are professional and friendly. We can put on a "show" or we can be background music only. If you prefer background music only, we can play softly and choose repertoire that is conducive to socializing, conversation and lunch/dinner/cocktails.
For any gigs that are over one hour's time, we will take a 15 minute break. For a 3 hour gig, we will take 2-15 breaks between sets.
I always allow my musicians to play solo tunes together without me. They usually play 2-3 songs of their own, per set. We try to keep our sets varied so you get to hear a little bit of swing, blues, latin, and ballad standards. We will also learn tunes at your request, in advance. We are professionals with many years experience and will learn almost anything you want us to play. My musicians are highly skilled.

Lisa Evans is a jazz singer from Dauphin County, Pa. Originally, born in Baltimore, Lisa grew up on the outskirts of Annapolis, Md., listening to her parent’s diverse musical collections of 50’s oldies, 70’s soft rock and traditional country. Her early days playing music include singing and playing guitar in South Florida at her church and in a local blues band. Her love for singing was inspired by her mother, who was a local singer of standards in the D.C. area in the 1980's. Lisa’s influences are Billie Holiday, Diana Krall, Stacey Kent and Gretchen Parlato.

John Link is a guitarist from Coatesville, Pa. He grew up in Harvey’s Lake and was a touring guitarist plus a house band guitarist for all the top acts who gigged in the Poconos in the late 60s through to the 80s. He has spent many years since then as a solo jazz guitarist. His greatest influences are Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery.
