It's always a great day to play!
I watched Lolly perform at a Nature Camp and she was fantastic. Her energy and enthusiasm is infectious. I couldn't help but smile the rest of the day. She's so good with the kids and sings songs that are fun for all ages. All the kids were participating, smiling and dancing together. She's so wonderful!

Lolly's songwriting and performance are beloved by kids and parents across the globe. Whether it's at an acoustic storytime or at a large venue backed by a full band, Lolly's personal connection with the audience and love for vintage kids music & entertainment translates into a memorable show for children and grown-ups alike.
Her original songs stand easily alongside those of kindie favorites like Dan Zanes, Elizabeth Mitchell, Casper Babypants, and many others. She knows many classic singalong childrens songs that kids and grown ups can join in with. Her own music draws the audience in to participate, either by singing along in a call and response with 'Hey Alligator', acting out a journey with little animal friends on 'An Adventurous Day' or having a wild dance party on 'Jump Jump'.
With a smaller group (5-15 kids), Lolly will have the chance to interact with each audience member individually. She'll come out and play with the kids and take song requests as well! For larger groups (15-30) the audience will be able to sing, dance and play along with Lolly's games and songs. When possible Lolly will be joined by other musicians on keyboards & flute. For audiences of 30 or more, we will give you the full musical experience, giving the kids a chance to sing and dance and play along.
Larissa 'Lolly' Hopwood began her lifelong love with childrens music and entertainment when she was a little girl dancing in front of a turned-off television to Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson. Since those early days, Lolly has performed on well respected stages as both a childrens musician and in indie bands. Whether she's playing to a big crowd or a small audience, Lolly always connects with the audience on a personal level. The songs that she writes, records, and performs have the kind of nostagia and familiarity of old-school Sesame Street that engage the younger listeners. However, parents often admit to listening to (and happily singing along with) the songs even when the kids aren't around.
Lolly has released two children's music CDs Go! Go! Go! and An Adventurous Day with YoYo. She also co-wrote the interactive kids book, MOVE!, which will be published in Spring 2016 by Workman. Always finding for more inspiration in the record crates of her favorite indie record shop, in books she reads, in the world around her, and in the vibrant children and grown-ups in her life, Lolly is excited to explore new possibilities and to make lots of new stories, games and music!
We are happy to provide a sound system if one is needed. If you have one that we can plug into, even better. However, we can easily perform acoustic shows for smaller groups of kids at parties, in small venues and in classroom settings.
Our setlist changes from show to show. We put together a new adventure for every performance, using props (like bubbles, scarves, parachutes or pom poms), puppets, and interactive songs to get the kids involved. Some examples of our themed shows are antarctic adventures, a trip to a far away island, forest adventures with our friends mouse & robin, and imaginative adventure with our quirky friend Quinn the Unicorn, under the sea exploration, a spooky halloween show with our monster friends, and much more. Several of our shows touch upon topical subjects like bullying, inclusion, and loving yourself just the way you are. Lolly published a book, Move!, through Workman Publishing as well, and she can do a full hour interactive show based around her book. No matter what the theme is, and no matter what size the audience is, there is always lots of movement, tons or interaction, plenty of music, and loads of fun!

We're influenced by classic children's entertainment from the 60's through the 80's, like Sesame Street, Mr Rogers, Pete Seeger, Ella Jenkins, Harry Nilsson, and Malvina Reynolds. Our act is also inspired by a lot of modern kids entertainment, too, like Dan Zanes, Laurie Berkner, the Pop-Ups, Caspar Babypants, Gustafer Yellowgold and Yo Gabba Gabba. Lolly and her band are influenced and inspired by current indie music as well. Jesse Chandler, who plays piano & woodwinds with Lolly, performs and records with several indie bands, such as Midlake, Mercury Rev, Cass McCombs, Erika Wennerstrom and many more. While drawing from a diverse musical pool, our main focus is to make sure that the songs are engaging for the kids while being enjoyable for the adults in the audience, too.
We just need a table, chair, and a place to plug in.
