From the minute I found Carlos, "Los1" on Gigsalad I knew that I would not be dissapointed. He was quick to get back to me and always was patient with me with everything over the entire process with him. He was always willing to meet me. He helped me to write a rap for my sister's wedding day. He came prepared with a song in mind and helped with the lyrics, and making the song just right. He brought so many ideas to the table, like getting the entire bridal party involved, which made the wedding performance unforgettable.
He came to the wedding, and sat right in the front and directed us and helped us to make the song great.
Los-1 is multi-talented and I definitely made the right choice by hiring him for this event. I would definitely recommend him for future events. All the guests from the wedding are still talking about the performance. It was an unforgettable performance and experience, one that I will never forget, as well as my sister, the bride.
Working for the Women’s Care Center of Erie County, Los 1 was not only a youth speaker for our programs, he also created a "Change Your Habits” media campaign including public service announcements for radio and billboards and print media. He effectively presents risk avoidance messages in public school classrooms, assemblies and community events and punctuates each message with powerful and memorable raps. Students overwhelmingly respond to his compassionate and positive manner and relevant style and appearance.
He was easy to work with, a team player on all levels of our program.
Dear Carlos:
On behalf of Marion County Children's Alliance, Community Council Against Substance Abuse (CCASA) and the Red Ribbon Planning Committee we want to thank you for the great partnership we have had since 2012 with our Red Ribbon Week. As you know CCASA’s mission is to increase participation in the anti-drug effort and enhance coordination among all organizations that are committed to reducing substance abuse in Marion County. Red Ribbon Week (October 23rd – 31st), a national effort celebrated by more than 100,000 schools and organizations nationwide. Red Ribbon Week is always dedicated to Federal drug enforcement agent Enrique Camarena, who was killed in 1985 by drug traffickers in Mexico. This week is the most successful drug prevention event organized to raise awareness about drug abuse in communities.
You are truly a unique youth educator and hip-hop performer that has impacted, encouraged and motivated us to lead the charge for a positive drug and violence free community with different eyes. Your music has been a bridge to reach our youth during our Red Ribbon Kickoffs at the Ocala Police Department as our headliner. Our attendance at the Red Ribbon Kickoff has increased to 500 attendees. In addition, you’re always willing to do school assemblies and small group presentations for at risk youth were each experience has been engaging, fun, educational and effective. Words cannot express our appreciation and sentiment for your genuineness, empathy, professionalism, and thought provoking lyrics. We look forward to working with you in the future.
What can I say about Los1 other than my headline, I watched him get the crowed involved and in his own unique way he gets a powerful message across. He is talented and his "look" is a draw in any crowd.
Response from Los-1:
Hello Cindy Marino,
Thanks for being volunteer staff at the LOS-1 SEND-OFF CONCERT in Erie, PA. Grace Fellowship Church was was the perfect spot to host the event, a very personal and intimate feeling in that room, and the movie screens were larger than life! Thank you for the food and refreshments. We'll have to put another event together again very soon!
Thanks for reviewing,
Carlos "Los-1" Ramirez

Great vibes and great music. Audience members will feel understood and interacted with. A fun lighthearted experience that dips into moments of sincerity and compassion for the everyday struggles humans face as hard working citizens in the rat race. Los understands the working class and fun-loving homebodies. An enjoyable experience of music and speech with a downright good guy. Open your coffee bar and break out some popcorn!
Los has worked professionally for over 15 years, with schools, churches, community groups, health departments, police departments and even the US military. His songs deal with life issues, shining a light on dating relationships, how and why we need boundaries, the consequences of bad choices, and how to avoid making a mess of your life and the lives of those you say you love. This is the "stuff" that commercial rap talks about, but on the negative side. Many of today's songs promote using others for pleasure, acting out of jealousy, revenge and hatred, covering pain and loneliness with sex, drugs and violence.
Los encourages this generation, and demonstrates for them, there is a different way to live that leads to success and happiness, for themselves and their children. Los uses rap in the work he's done with students over the years, to give them an outlet and opportunity to express themselves through a unique curriculum called "16 Bars", using only clean language.
Los has presented multi-session, in-school youth programs for several years, and is certified in several sexual risk avoidance curricula, as well as positive youth development/40 asset strategies.
"I have learned that each of us has been given a gift by the Creator of the universe, a talent, an ability that is unique to us. The gift has to be polished and practiced in order to share it to help others, that is a call for everyone not just for performers. I want to share my gifts with others and encourage them to do the same." Los-1
