In my solos I passionately emote and connect intimately with the audience. Very versatile repertoire and styles from jazz to Broadway to "oldies but goodies" from the 50s and 60s.
What makes me outstanding as an entertainer is that I don't just sing, I act out the songs.
A good singer should really be an "actress in song". Our duets are outstanding and most entertaining. Quite refreshing in this day and age.
We can make your private party at home or restaurant or hotel, a memorable time.
Baby Boomers will love our repertoire and find the songs easy to reminisce over.
After a performance people come over to me to let me know that I made them want to get up and dance, laugh or cry or recall an association or event from a song that brought them back to past years.
These fabulous songs are a vehicle to memories and emotions.
I've been singing throughout my life. Coming from a musical family, growing up on Long Island, NY, it's no surprise of my love for musical theater and all kinds of music. As a child took piano lessons and as a teen started getting involved in junior high school productions of musicals singing, dancing, acting. Have fond memories of watching the Show of Shows with my parents on tv in the mid 50s plus The Hit Parade and Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland specials. Watching my parents dance and my sister, myself and parents singing songs with harmony created a strong foundation for my enthusiasm for all aspect of musical theater and pop music. Being an avid fan of American Bandstand was also a big influence and the baby boomers will love the oldies I sing! Besides her grandkids, singing and arranging songs is her joy!
Having studied piano and voice plus teaching all these years has enhanced my skills in arranging and being knowledgable of many songs through the decades. It's just wonderful how the style of Porter, Berlin and Gershwin plus other composers like Richard Rodgers and Julie Styne are now being revived with the onset of singers like Michael Buble and Lady Gaga. Hopefully the baby boomer generation of music will be passed onto the younger ones.
Private parties in the past from NY to Boca Raton, Florida and now in Los Angeles, where she resides. Concerts as well! Nothing like connecting with a live audience.
Growing up with songs from the 50s and 60s provides a wide range of songs to choose from. My parents were a huge influence helping to form my musical taste often playing records in the house from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, etc. Some of my favorite singers are Barbra Steisand, Barry Manilow, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Petula Clark, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, Judy Garland, and so many more....
It is such fun to authentically arrange the varied repertoire I choose to sing along with my talented piano accompanist /arranger Charlie Harrison. Charlie, originally from Kansas, has a long career in show business playing for so many singers and much experience in orchestras and bands. Our duets are quite refreshing with harmony and unique arrangements.
Our act and presentation often leaves audiences smiling and tapping their feet with an occasional laugh, or tear depending on the song's message. Definitely not just a singer, but an actress who emotes and moves to the music.
In addition to being a singer/entertainer, Lynne is a piano teacher and vocal coach with her home studio in Beverly Hills, California.
Her adult children are also involved with music, theater, song writing, voice overs, acting, writing... and the grandkids are on their way with singing and dancing...very much in the genes.
We can bring a keyboard, amp and mics plus drum machine for drum effect. Amazing how a duo can sound like a band, creating a space for dancing if desired. If you have a tuned piano we can definitely use that as well.
