Maia Alexandra

A dynamic dancer with a flair for fun, Maia is nationally known for her on stage charisma and technical ability. Maia Alexandra is available for performances both large and small. She has been a featured dancer in venues across the country, including the prestigious Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive. Her shows are fully customizable! Maia is adept at working crowds in close proximity like parties, restaurants, and "mingling" events, and is equally at home on a stage with full production quality.

Maia's dance background is extremely diverse, from classical ballet to more progessive styles such as hoop dance. This wide range gives her the flexibility and training to truly fit your needs and wants in a Belly dancer or Fire entertainer. She is fluent in folkloric styles (costuming might be heavier fabrics and full coverage), classical (think beads and sequins), and more modern edge (slinkier outfits, often with a "punk" like flair). In addition to belly dancing, Maia does work with Fire. Her specialties include fire eating, palm torches, jump rope, and an 8-spoke flaming hula hoop. As an instructor, Maia strongly believes that to every skill there is no one "key" to learning. Just as every student is individual, every student learns differently. She utilizes many different learning techniques, including visualization, mnemonics, biomechanical breakdown, simple repetition and beyond in her quest to teach as completely as possible. Maia loves teaching, and lives for those "lightbulb over the head" moments when a student comes to life in class.
