From Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo, you can expect punctuality, clear communication and excellent musicianship. We can accommodate any event: corporate, background music, concert ready performance and or an audience engaging performance, whatever your specific need. You can also expect that we play music appropriate to the occasion. Ángeles del Cielo will always be as accommodating to clientele as possible, as our wish is to bring excellent music and joy or comfort to any occasion. We can perform for almost any event you can think of, the most popular being weddings, quinceañeras, sweet sixteens, funerals, church masses, anniversaries, birthdays, retirements and graduation parties!
You can also expect we will be ready to make changes to plans, within reason and the scope of our agreement. You may also expect us to be well dressed and costumed for all occasions. If you have an event that requires a concert type set up, we are prepared for the use of microphones in a concert style setting, although as a mariachi, we do not need microphones and do not own a sound system.

Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo opened business on June 25, 2022, under the leadership of Cynthia Marie Harlow-Cepeda. As a result of being the only guitarrónista and an original member of the original Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo that ran from (phone number hidden)2, she always loved the name, as it was a constant reminder of her first true musical family.
After approximately 27 years of gigging and performing with San Antonio's top performance and entertainment groups, since around 1995, Cynthia decided it was time for a larger musical vision to come to fruition. By October 16, 2022, Cynthia and Rene Benavidez, ironically Cynthia's former music director and original founder and owner of Mariachi Angeles del Cielo, decided to work together with Rene in the new role of Musical Director of Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo.
To embolden the strength of the ensemble, Cynthia knew she and Rene could not do it alone. Purposefully, emphatically and unambiguously, she hand picked musicians and friends she loved working with in years past. In doing so, she called upon her long time friend, and musician extraordinaire, Heather Newman González- with Heather now leading the violin section, choreographing movement and acting as show leader!
Sharing corresponding values of family, musical excellence and immense passion for mariachi music, the three are the creative team behind the early success of Mariachi ngeles del Cielo. The trio are continuously building the vision and developing the growth of the ensemble, not only to exhibit musical excellence, but to also be appealing and entertaining to all audiences!
Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo is now a mixture of young 20 somethings and vibrant 40 somethings of talented musicians, comprised of a unique sisterhood that have joined together to create a powerhouse sound! The Ángeles sound comes from kismet, immeasurable natural talent, combined years of musical grounding, tireless work ethic and palpable cariño for mariachi music! The true musical strength of Ángeles music is in their incomparable performances, utilizing varying sonance and genres; always high energy with style and grace!
The re-emergence of Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo's creative and ever expanding repertoire are a nod to Cynthia's late father, Clyde W. Harlow Sr's musical influences, adding to the sense of purpose and passion these lovely ladies exhibit. Mariachi Ángeles del Cielo's goal for every performance is for our audiences to have an experience they will never forget, all fueled by the culmination of a life celebrated with music! We are a mariachi, and as such do not need sound equipment. However, we are versed in stage performance and can perform with a sound system provided by the client, as requested. Since we are a mariachi with the majority of our instruments being made of wood, we do not play out in open rain, as this would cause irreparable damage to our instruments. We also do not play in extremely hot weather without shade. On the flip side of that we do not play in extremely cold weather outdoors, as these factors affect our ability to keep our instruments tuned. We also care about extreme weather because we are vocalists, and we must care for our voices to give you the best performance possible. We ask these specific things as part of care and respectful treatment for our musicians.
