Megan could not have been any more professional! She worked with me on curating a lovely list of songs for my girlfriend’s birthday surprise. Day of the gig, I made a few last-minute requests and she made it happen and then some. Most importantly, she was so genuine and made my girlfriend feel special. I told Megan that my hope for every student of mine is that they follow their heart’s passion because the result of doing so leads to days like yesterday. If you're looking for a passionate and dedicated artist for your event Megan Shung is your artist.
Response from Megan Shung:
Thank you so much Moe! It's a pleasure to perform such a special surprise. I hope you both had a wonderful rest of your celebration ❤️
Megan put together the most amazing string trio for our wedding in May. Their performance and professionalism was outstanding. Great follow-up, flexibility, communication -- and extremely talented. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the strings were during our ceremony. Thanks so much Megan!
Response from Megan Shung:
Matt!
Thank you for your kind words and thanks for having us perform at such an important day of your life. We had a great time. Best wishes to you and Nicole. Hope to see you two again at one of our shows!
-Megan
We hired Megan to play during our holiday client/staff appreciation event. Megan arrived on time, professionally dressed and played beautifully. We had already discussed in very loose terms what the music might be and she choose music selections that were well suited for our event with no need for my direction so I could focus on our clients. Her music added the perfect ambiance to our event. I would definitely without hesitation refer her and hire her again.
i was planning to propose to my girlfriend and the other musicians weren't able to play for the event afterall. So i contacted Megan on very short notice, told her my budget, and she took care of it all with a smile and a great performance. i'm so glad i chose her to play for our special day. My girlfriend and i could not have been happier. Thank you so much.
I was blessed to work with Megan for my wedding. She was so helpful and kind and engaging. She made the process so very simple. I had no idea what I was doing! I needed music for my wedding ceremony and had no idea where to even start. Megan worked her magic and I had the talented Francesca and Eugene make my husband's and my big day that much more special. The only thing that would have made it better is if I could have had her play at my wedding, but unfortunately she was unavailable that weekend due to family obligations. I highly, highly recommend her and her services.
I used Megan for my best friend's 4oth..and they were a surprise..they did a wonderful job!
Megan was a delight to work with. She is extremely professional. Not only is she an skilled violinist, but she is very accommodating. When I wanted to change my processional song for my small wedding, she was more than willing to accommodate me. Not only this, but it was a song she had never played before, so she spent, I'm sure, not a small amount of time learning the song before the event. Megan's pricing is also quite affordable for solo violinist, which is nice for those of us planning events on a budget. I would, and will, recommend her to all my friends and all of those reading this review!
Megan was courteous and professional.
Megan,
I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the two musicians that played our wedding ceremony on May 4. They were at the location on time, knew exactly where to be and what to play, and most certainly entertained our guests. I want to thank you for the professional group you coordinated for us and would definitely recommend you and your musicians to others. They won't be disappointed!
Thanks again,
Paul
I have hired Megan Shung for the last Christmas season to play for St. James Catholic Church in Spring, Texas. Everyone from the pastor, staff to the congregations has falling in love with the wonderful, professional sound that Megan has performed, and provided for us. Her talents and skills were amazing; she has truly lifted up our music program to the next level that we had not ever have before. Sadly but our music resources are so limited, we don't have any arrangement for violin beside flute and trumpet. But Megan had the ability to improvise and still blend in so well with five other instruments.
Beside her musical skills, it is so hard to find someone like Megan for she has the most beautiful spirit. She is so easy to work with. Most of musicians have big egos, but not Megan. She can work well with the armatures and the professional.
I feel selfish if I do not share the good news to you all out there. However, I have and will book her for every Liturgical season and special occasion for our community.

Megan did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding ceremony which was this past weekend. I was a little concerned at first because I had chosen no traditional wedding music. I didn't know if I would be able to find someone that could learn the songs quickly and effectively. But when I heard Megan for the first time practicing at the rehearsal, myself and everyone present were completely blown away. Not only did she do an amazing job playing, she also coordinated well with the other musicians she had not known prior to the event, she was prompt to both the rehearsal and wedding, and she was extremely friendly and professional. Will highly suggest her to anyone !! Thanks so much Megan for making the ceremony even more amazing !
We contracted with Megan for an ensemble performance and she provided that on time with great skill and as promised. we look forward to having her back.
Megan made my wedding the more beautiful than I expected! She is very polite and asked me if I had special instructions for her which was very considerate of her. The wedding party was very impressed with the proffessional and beautiful melody she created with her violin. I received so much praise from my friends and family!
Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to see her perform due to her relocation. However, I'd vouch for her as she is extremely caring, courteous and professional all at the same time throughout our email exchange. She will try her best to give you what you need. Had it not been for Megan, I would not have found the musicians I have been long searching for. If you are looking for a violinist you can depend on, I can assure you that Megan would make a fine choice when it comes to choosing a musician for your event!
I hired Megan this past weekend to perform at a cozy little Civil Ceremony that I had at my house. Megan was the star of the event! She played marvelously and had the whole crowd in awe with her remarkable talent. Megan was also very responsive and kept in touch with me several times via e-mails or text messages leading up to my event. This gesture put me at ease and I realized that not only is she brilliantly talented but she also has outstanding customer service. I highly recommend Megan!!!!
Megan is extremely talented and very easy to work with. Professional and intelligent. I was married at Manakiki Ceremonial Grove in Willoughby, Oh and Megan played as a solo violinist at our ceremony. She played exactly what I wanted; she made my job as a bride very easy. Knowledgeable, just all around fantastic. I would recommend her to anyone!
Megan Shung helped me make my daughter's wedding a day to remember. She played beautifully and was able to adapt to a difficult weather situation. She accomadated requests for various musical selections and did so beautifullly. I would highly recommend her for any event.
Megan was very professional about everything! She responded to all my emails in a timely fashion. I had 3 songs picked out for my wedding ceremony for her to play and left the rest up to her and she did an amazing job! She had a cello playing with her and they both did great! We got a lot of compliments on Megan and the cellist! I would highly recommend Megan for your wedding or event!
I was pressed for a performer for a wedding at the last minute. Literally two weeks before the date. Although Megan could not attend she gave me the names of several other people I could contact. The violinist that showed was wonderful, she had a whole host of music that appealed to all. I have to say she was a HUGE help in a desperate time.
I could not be happier with how the quintet played during our wedding and also at dinner. It provided for the exact type of atmosphere I was looking for and made the entire evening that much more beautiful. There really are no words for how this music made me feel. I absolutely loved hearing the quintet play throughout the evening, and it is exactly what I wanted for our wedding day. I truly admire the talent this group displayed. They were absolutely wonderful!
I helped book a quintet for my sister and brother-in-law's wedding. Ms. Shung was very clear with her rates and handling of the event. She was very receptive to the type of music we asked the quintet to perform. She allowed us to listen to the quintet during a rehearsal prior to the wedding, which was incredibly important to us. On the day of the wedding, the quintet showed up in a timely manner, performed impeccably, and adapted to their environment extremely well with regards to acoustics. My sister and her new husband absolutely loved the music, and the attendees were in awe with how beautifully they performed. Every musician was incredibly professional, polite, and very kind to us. I highly recommend working with Ms. Shung and her group for any event requiring classical music performed impeccably and with class!
We hired Megan & Erica to play for an executive dinner. They were prompt, professional and extremely talented. Their performance added an air of elegance to our event and both women were extremely accomadating and a pleasure to work with.
We hired Megan to play our wedding and things couldn't have turned out better. She was absolutely professional and you could tell she LOVES her job and LOVES playing the violin. She was super easy to work with, she knows way more about music than we do, so we told her to run with what she thought would be appropriate for a wedding and she nailed it. We got many great reviews about the wedding and a lot of them were about the music. We hired Megan to play the violin and she recommended we hire a cellist to play as well. We agreed and she handled all those details for us. The music at the ceremony and the cocktail hour were great and really helped to set the mood on a great day. We can't rate Megan high enough (5 stars isn't enough)! We wish we had more reasons to hire her, because we would absolutely do that in the future.
As a San Francisco resident having a "destination wedding" in Cleveland, of all places, I wanted to capitalize on the assets Cleveland does have and top on this list were superb classical musicians. I knew I wanted CIM students but had no means of finding them. A few Google searches landed me on Gig Salad and it was here that I found Megan. She is a lovely woman to work with--she replied to my initial inquiry within 24 hours and was always readily available by email. I'm a bit of a control freak and had my somewhat unconventional ceremony music picked out from start to finish. Megan never uttered a word of protest to my excessively detailed instructions and instead gathered together a string quartet that played my music of choice flawlessly (Tchaikovsky's "Andante Cantabile," Borodin's "Notturno," and the main theme from "Cinema Paradiso.") Her prices were also at least 30% cheaper than the next cheapest quote that I could come by. She and her colleagues arrived at the wedding precisely on time and set up and started playing promptly. My biggest wedding regret is that I didn't get to hear them play more! (I was sequestered out back until the processional began). I couldn't recommend her more.
We hired Megan, along with another musician, for our wedding that took place at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. She is extremely pleasant to work with and very organized. We were very satisfied and highly recommend her!
Megan was very professional in all of our meetings. She was so sweet and knows her field of music incredibly well. Her performance added such elegance to our wedding ceremony.
Ms. Shung and her viola and cello trio members conducted themselves in a responsible, reliable and professional manner for our daughter's wedding ceremony. The string trio's performance during the ceremony was excellent and very well received and complimented by numerous guests.
We hired Megan for our August 6th, 2011 wedding. She was very a delight to work with and very professional. She offered wonderful suggestions and feadback for our wedding music. I have heard other musicians play at weddings and they cannot hold a candle to Megan. She plays beautifully and we received numerous compliments and inquires on how beautiful the music was. I would recommend Megan to anyone that is looking to hire a musician and would hire her again for future engagements.

Megan performed for our wedding this past June. She was very professional to work with and offered great advice. Her performance was beautiful and provided a classy elegance to our outdoor ceremony. Great job Megan!
Megan Shung played at our May 2011 wedding, along with Cellist Cecilia Orazi. We could not have been happier with the whole experience! The music was beautiful, and Megan was wonderful to work with during the planning process. She was always quick to respond to our questions and was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She and Cecilia were not only willing to learn a new piece for our processional but seemed honestly enthusiastic about doing so; it certainly was performed beautifully. They were also very good to us when a small crisis arose. At the last minute (after the mothers had already been seated!), we had to delay our ceremony start time by 15 minutes due to an important guest being late. Megan and Cecilia were kind enough to extend the prelude during that time. They adapted so quickly to the change in plans that many people never even noticed! Their professionalism and willingness to roll with the change made what could have been a very stressful moment so much easier. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
Response from Megan Shung:
Thank you for using our service, it was really a pleasure working with you and I'm glad the "crisis" resolved itself just at the right time. Wish for the very best for your marriage!
I recently hired Megan to perform at my outdoor wedding at the Rockefeller Greenhouse. It was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Megan was so helpful and prompt at responding to my e-mails. She is a talented violinist and an experienced wedding musician. I will highly recommend Megan to play at any event.
Megan Shung is not only professional but also pleasant to work with. High responsibility, great communication skills, and a passion for her what she is doing, I highly encourage people to get Megan at any future event, as her talent and her performance were definitely the highlight of the night of our event.
I recently hired her to play on my suprise proposal event. She came on time and played what I asked for. Basically she did her job and she was great.Thank you again...
Megan was easy to work with and very professional. The music she chose and played for our ceremony and cocktail hour were beautiful. Many of our guests commented on how great the music was. We would highly recommend Megan to play for any event.
Megan was very professional and responded promptly to all communication. She was very easy to work with and delightful to talk to. Megan is incredibly talented and well prepared for performances. We would definitely ask her to play at our events in the future!
