Hi!
My name is Melody and I just graduated with a Ph.D. in Music Education: Piano Pedagogy with a certificate in Piano Performance from Florida State University.
I am accomplished in solo classical piano performance, but also play sacred, pop, and many jazz styles as well. I put much care and effort into my song selections and always vary my repertoire based on the location, event, and audience.
I have always received wonderful compliments when I have played for venues in the past. I would be happy to perform for your next event!
Melody filled the house with tunes that really set off the Holiday spirit. She made us love our piano even more. Hope to find another occasion to host and invite her again.
She's very professional and did a great job playing for our ceremony. During the candle lighting in the middle of the ceremony, one candle wouldn't light and took longer than expected. She improvised and went with the flow on cue.
Plays beautifully. Communication was personal very warm kind presence. She arrived exactly on schedule. Flawless performance. We would strongly recommend using her in your functions. We will definitely use her again.
We had our office holiday party in our home. Approx 20 people. Melody played holiday music as well as jazz standards. She is amazing and our staff is still talking about how wonderful it was having her join our celebration.
Thank you!

With a keen ear for the unique "pulse" of each event, I curate a diverse array of musical pieces that seamlessly blend with the ambiance. I am adept at tailoring my performance to match the energy of the room, whether it's an intimate gathering or a lively party.
For receptions and celebratory events, expect a rhythmic journey that begins with 2-3 vibrant, upbeat compositions, followed by a soothing, slower piece to provide a well-rounded musical experience.
In more relaxed settings, I subtly shift the tempo of my performance, allowing the music to gently ebb and flow with the conversations and laughter, enhancing the overall atmosphere rather than overpowering it.
Moreover, I am open to preparing specific song requests with sufficient notice, ensuring that your favorite melodies become part of the event's unforgettable soundtrack.
Melody Morrison is a recent graduate of the Ph.D. in Piano
Pedagogy program at the Florida State University College of Music, where she also achieved a certificate in Piano Performance.
Before her studies at FSU, Melody received an M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogical Sties from the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music.
During her time at U of I, Morrison won the 2016-17 University of Idaho Concerto
Competition and the 2016-17 Washington-Idaho Symphony’s Young Artist
Competition. As a result, Melody was given the opportunity to perform with the
Washington Idaho Symphony as a guest soloist during the 2017-18 concert
season.
Melody also holds a Bachelor of Science in Piano Performance from Corban
University in Salem, OR. During the course of her undergraduate study at Corban,
she served as pianist and percussionist in Jazz Band, assistant principal second
violinist in Chamber Orchestra, and accompanist for Chamber Choir. She also
appeared as a guest soloist with the Corban University Concert Band and was a
recipient of the 2016 Music Performance Award. Melody holds much
accompanying experience, and enjoys collaborating with all types of
instrumentalists and ensembles. She also enjoys playing in all styles of music--not just classical.
Melody is currently an active member of MTNA (Music Teachers National
Association), has presented at various conferences across the country, and
continues to carry out research. In addition to this, Melody is involved in several
piano teaching forums and associations where she shares ideas with other
teachers across the world and attempts to keep up with the latest trends and
discoveries in piano performance and pedagogy.
I do have a digital keyboard I can bring but amplification would be needed to fill a larger space. An acoustic upright or grand piano would be preferable for the best sound quality.
