High energy soul, funk, blues and rock. Quality musicianship and professional presentation. A group that always leaves its audience wanting more! Available as a full band, acoustic trio or an acoustic duo. *Clubs, concerts, receptions, seasonal events and dances.
Considering the months without rehearsals or gigs (COVID), Lynda, Dave, Mark, Gary and Denny put on a professional and entertaining performance and provided us with two hours of great dance music. Yes, Lynda ,and her vocals, is the featured headliner for Mercy but we were also struck by how tight this group sounded despite the lack of practice. Was that Stevie, Janis, or Bonny up there belting out classics with a range and depth few singers have? Impressive!
We will be hiring Mercy again in the very near future.
I have booked Mercy with Lynda Morrison one Saturday evening each month for 1-1/2 years for Avalon Bar & Grill. They are highly accomplished musicians with a really great sound and wide appeal! They have a large local following so we always know they will draw a good, devoted crowd. People come back to hear them time and again, and we love it that once new people hear them, they, too come back for more. They are very reliable and pleasant to deal with, too, so that has been quite appreciated. This is a very professional band that I recommend without reservations.

Lynda Morrison - These days’ female vocalists are literally a-dime-a-dozen, but every once in a while one comes along that stops you in your tracks by their sheer expressiveness and deep soulfulness. Lynda Morrison is just such a vocalist. A seasoned veteran, she has the vocal power to slam you against the wall and, at the same time, a vulnerability that will melt your heart and move you to tears. Comparisons to Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Eva Cassidy and Janis Joplin are not uncommon, but Lynda Morrison truly has her own voice and with a large and growing following, no matter where it is she is singing, her loyal fans show up to enthusiastically and lovingly support her.
Lynda began her professional music career in her teens when she went on the road with various club bands in the 1980’s. By the end of the decade she had already participated in multiple tours and recording projects. She quickly became the girl everyone called to sing on their albums and in their bands. In the early 90’s Lynda recorded her first solo album, “The River”. Assisting in the production and performance on it were Jaymes Felix (Tower of Power, Bryan Duncan), Greg Eckler (Rubicon, Darrell Mansfield), Bob Anglin (Sammy Hagar, Darrell Mansfield) and numerous others. Lynda also wrote or co-wrote many of the songs on it. The album was a regional success and has since sold out!
Dave Day has been playing music professionally for more than 30 years. Dave’s extraordinary musicianship as a guitarist will make your jaw drop! He is the founder of the band “MERCY “. He formerly performed with the “Mercy Blues Band" specializing in blues and blues-rock and released two albums, "Blues is My Favorite Color" and "Souled Out Blues".
Dave has either opened for or played with Buckwheat Zydeco, Dave Mason, Darrell Mansfield, The Karen Lovely Band, Gary Mallaber (Steve Miller, Van Morrison), Michael Vannice (Robert Cray), Curtis Salgado and Robert Cray to name a few. Currently Dave performs with "MERCY (featuring Lynda Morrison). He also performs with the Southern Oregon band "Broadway Phil and The Shouters". Additionally, Dave plays guitar for Blues Hall of Fame artist Darrell Mansfield when he tours the Pacific Northwest.
Denny Carmassi was born into a family of drummers; his father, his uncle, and his brother each played the drums. Some of Carmassi’s earliest memories are his father rehearsing after work with his band in the kitchen of their home. Occasionally they allowed young Denny to sit in with them. Denny's father exposed Denny to great musicians, including Buddy Rich, Jimmy Vincent, Louie Prima, Ray Charles, Earl Palmer, D.J. Fontana, Al Jackson Jr., and many more.
Denny was a founding member of the band Montrose. After Montrose, he played with his former Montrose bandmate Sammy Hagar as a solo artist, and with his former Montrose bandmates Ronnie Montrose and Jim Alcivar in the band Gamma. He performed with Heart from the 80’s to the mid-90’s, Coverdale-Page (David Coverdale and Jimmy Page), Whitesnake, and David Coverdale as a solo artist. Denny has an extensive resume of recording sessions for national and international artists. For his discography simply Google “Denny Carmassi”
Gary Nisbet is master of many musical instruments. It is almost easier to list the instruments that he does not play. Gary comes from a musical family; his mother was a pianist/organist and directed the Bell Telephone Chorus in Los Angeles back in the late 60s to early 70s. Gary took piano lessons at 5 years old , learned to play the flute at 10 and guitar at 13! But he didn’t stop there, in high school he had a great teacher who allowed him to learn oboe, trumpet, trombone, French horn, Eb alto horn and baritone! Gary has been performing music for over 30 years and is an accomplished musician. He plays keyboards, flute and the harmonica (to name just a few) at any given MERCY performance.
