As a piano teacher, my request for Mr. Tasin was a bit unusual as I wanted a professional singer for my piano students to accompany. Additionally, I wanted this to be done in front of the others students and their parents so they may learn as well.
Mete not only provided his amazing voice, but was very educational and interactive as well. He dressed the part, sang the part, taught the part, and interacted with the group (now his adoring fans. One is even planning to call him for a special event).
I could not be more pleased. My students are even more invigorated, the parents are inspired, and I am feeling both, seeing again and again how music and live performers changes lives.
I need to add -I've had my students listen to MANY recordings, but absolutely NOTHING beats a live performance. If you have any doubts about hiring Mete, erase them. If you have thoughts that perhaps I can save some money and just play a couple recordings from Youtube, Pandora, etc...erase those as well. You will doing yourselves a great service and creating memories by having Mete perform at any event you plan.

From the first phone call I made to Mete, Mete made it easy. I was planning a funeral mass for my father during an emotional time for me with a very short timeline. Mete was right there answering my questions and being very sensitive to my feelings that were all over the place. He also followed up to ensure all the details were correct. He allowed us as a family to honor our father with lovely music. Mete's voice was rich and beautiful. Having him sing brought an entire new dimension to the mass, a solemnity but at the same time uplifting. When he sang it truly lifted us. We wanted this mass to be special and having Mete perform the music did just that. He was on time, there were no glitches; he was professional. I recommend Mete for any event that requires a professional with a magnificent voice. I cannot thank him enough or say enough good things about him for making this important occasion special.
My husband and I booked Mete as the sole performer for a dinner opera night fundraiser for our school at our home. Our guests were enthralled by his incredibly beautiful voice, his charm and his all around great performance and charisma. It has been six months and people are still talking about Mete. I have booked him again for a special event next month and I am now checking his availability for a Centennial Ball that I am working on for next year. Mete adds class and elegance to every event he is associated with. Mete is mesmerizing!

Having Mete sing at my mother-in-law's 94th birthday made it so much more special. The song choices were perfect and his presentation and persona I think really mesmerized our group. Mete performed at my mother's memorial service and everyone was amazed at his skill - even the young people gasped and said "I've never heard anything like that before!" He had us all in tears, it was so beautiful. What a voice!!

Mete Tasin is a compelling and versatile vibrant opera singer who was born in Wurzburg, Germany and raised in Turkey. He studied with Prof. Guzin GUREL at Istanbul University State Conservatory and later in the US with Patricia McCaffrey at Brooklyn College (Master of Music). His career began in Minnesota USA, with Carmen ( Don Jose ) and Lucia di Lammermoor ( Arturo ).
Mete has been in many leading roles in Turkey, Europe, most recently in the United States .
Mete previously performed as the lead role of Arlecchino in Pagliacci by Leoncavallo and Gastone in La Traviata by Verdi at the San Jose Opera in California. He has represented the San Francisco City Opera by singing at Union Street and North Beach Festivals as a soloist. He reprises his breath-taking role as Bizet Don Jose in Carmen at Mira Theater, Verismo Opera, and New York City Lyric Opera - Carnegie Hall in New York City. He sang Tybalt in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette and Guillot in Massenet's Manon at Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space as a NYLOT Resident Artist. In addition from composing music for Ali Baba and 40 Thieves which premiered in New York, he also played a Sultan role, which hailed “fabulous” reviews from the Turkish Community as well as the audience.
Mete collaborated with Istanbul Opera House as the solo tenor in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy. He performed at Izmir Symphony Orchestra, Ankara State Chorus, and Vasif Adiguzel's Canakkale Oratorio as a tenor soloist.
He has collaborated with well known conductors and coaches such as: William Hicks, Joan Dornemann, John Yaffe, Gaetano Colajanni, Pier Calmelet, Ibrahim Yazici, Serdar Yalcin, Gokcen Koray, Rengim Gokmen, Koji Kawamoto, Cesar Ulloa, Sheri Greenawald.
