Mhairi MacCallum - Fiddler/Violinist

Hey there! My name is Mhairi, I'm 25 years old and I have been playing the violin since I was 7 years old. I began by learning classical violin and competed in several classical violin competitions growing up. I still enjoy playing classical violin today, however in high school I joined the North Shore Celtic Ensemble (NSCE) and fell in love with fiddling as well. I played with the NSCE for several years, gained tons of experience performing, and traveled all over Canada, the US, and Scotland. I could play celtic/irish fiddle tunes all night long! It wasn't until a few years ago that I also started getting into old-time/bluegrass fiddling while preparing to compete in fiddling competitions across Canada. Now I have an entire repertoire of old-time/blue grass fiddle tunes if that's what you're looking for! I also often play with a guitarist if you're looking for a duo. The Fiddle/Violin is my area of expertise, however I also play ukulele, mandolin, and a little guitar.
