We knew after perusing his YouTube channel and speaking with him briefly via phone that Michael Shingo Crawford was the perfect musician for our wedding. He was responsive, incredibly talented, and clearly passionate about his work. Michael was generous and accommodating, learning new songs at our request for the processional and recessional and playing outdoors in chilly conditions. The violin/cello duo's elegant performance left an impression on our guests, heightening the emotions of our day in a beautiful way. We will be forever thankful.

I hired Michael to come to my parents’ house as a surprise and play their wedding song on their front lawn for their anniversary. I had also asked him to play a few songs that were not on his usual play list and he learned them in a couple of weeks time and was flawless!!! The surprise and the joy and the excitement that he provided for this experience was the best gift I have ever given anyone! Michael was responsive, prompt and flexible with a rain date. Just an overall amazing experience!
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:

We asked for Michael on a short notice to come for a private event. He was very accommodating with his schedule, and the outdoors event didn’t impact the top quality of his performance. He has both classical and modern songs in his repertoire, everything is with the top class and elegance. Would highly recommend.

Michael arrived early with his cellist. They were friendly, polite and the hit of my dinner party. We had classical music lovers in attendance who were especially overjoyed. Michael played pieces that perfectly fit the vibe of my Victorian Halloween party. He even went over the top and took time to prepare a specially requested piece.

Michael is an excellent violinist and a true professional. I hired him to play a service for me last year, and I will happily hire him again. He handled everything I threw at him (including a lot of penciled-in mapwork) with grace and aplomb, and his playing was exceptional.
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thanks Gareth! It was great to play at your beautiful church and hope to return some time soon (especially now that I have a car!)
Michael and a cellist he works with performed a Groupmuse in my home and it was a wonderful experience. They played everything from Handel to Michael Jackson and the Beatles (arranged by Michael), and my guests and I really enjoyed it all.

Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Anais, it's always great to work with you at ENAensemble.
I reserve my praise only for musicians of exceptional merit, and I would be remiss if I did not highly recommend this deserving artist. It gives me great pleasure to recommend Michael Crawford for any type of engagement and setting, whether it be a concert which is geared toward regular concert goers or an informal pops concert for first time listeners. I have collaborated with him performing duos in concert as well as conducting him as concert meister in chamber orchestra. He is an outstanding violinist of solo concert hall caliber and is equally at ease in solo repertoire and chamber music, as well as concert meister. The same can be said of his facility in all musical styles throughout the ages. And he is also a highly respected composer as well.
Noteworthy are Crawford’s exceptional talents when collaborating with others. We have collaborated closely in rehearsals and in organizing concerts, and he is versatile, flexible, and creative. His willingness to provide diverse repertoire which is suited to any occasion is invaluable in pleasing average audiences as well as connoisseurs.
Michael Crawford is always dependable, conscientious, and a pleasure to work with. One can always be sure that he will rise to the occasion, having perfected every detail as a strong and solid musician and collaborator.
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Lance, it's always a pleasure to collaborate with you.
5 star experience! I hired Michael to play solo violin to celebrate mine and my fiance's engagement! Not only was Michael a super talented musician, but also was beyond flexible, anticipated my wants/needs, and was super reliable and easy to get a hold of throughout the whole process. The engagement was a winner and in no uncertain terms did Michael add to the essence and wonder of the evening! Would book again in a second. Thanks Michael!!!
Don't let his age fool you – Michael is a virtuoso when it comes to the violin. He possess the masterful balance of technical and emotive and is a gifted composer of evocative, deeply moving pieces.
I had the pleasure of inviting Michael into my home to play a program for a string duet – violin and cello – and at another performance, where I listened to him pair his soulful violin with the voice of opera.
He's communicative and professional, and is going places.
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Rachel - it was a very exciting first Groupmuse experience for me!
My 34th Wedding Anniversary is tomorrow 8/22/20, and I wanted someone to assist me in creating a WOW Effect, Michael assisted me in creating this Magical Moment for my wife and family.
Michael performance were Grammy Worthy, as he Has My Vote.
I will be calling Michael again, as When You Have The Best, Why Try The Rest..
Thx Michael.

I Recently had the pleasure of recording Michael’s composition, “Papriks Dreams. I felt that I had just experienced a new, modern style of classical music unlike that of any I had heard before. Michael’s genius as a composer and violinist has created this exciting and beautiful masterpiece.

Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:

Michael put on a great concert at the Centre Theater in Norristown.
The Classucal Duo was invited several times to my house and two times to the house of my friends.
We invited Michael Shingo Crawford and his partner to perform for my family and my friends on birthday’s parties, family reunions and engagements.
The musicians not only provided the great repertoire of classical, romantic and modern music but were ready to play any popular songs and pieces “on demand”
The most memorable performance of the duo was a surprise birthday 70-th anniversary of my friend that took place in my house.
Together with the music of Bach, Handel, Schubert, Rachmaninov the musicians played for us the variety of old pop songs. That all made our event unforgettable!!!
I highly recommend the Classical Duo for any kind of home events and celebrations!
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Ivetta! It was lots of fun to play for you and your family and we hope to return some time.
When my wife and I learned about a recital that Michael Shingo Crawford would be performing at the Laurel Hill Mansion in Philadelphia, I called to reserve seats. I had seen several of the videos of his performing and of his compositions, so I was eager to hear him in person. We were very impressed with his exciting, musical playing and were pleased with the varied selections on the program. The large room was filled with an enthusiastic audience, and it was obvious that everyone was enjoying his recital. I highly recommend him!
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Joe for supporting my performance (and taking great photos) !
Michael played a wonderful concert at my house. His violin playing was sublime And stage presence engaging. Even my car was enthralled by his music.
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thank you Stephanie for inviting Steve and me to perform in your beautiful home, and I'm glad that your cat got a front-row seat.
Michael is a gifted artist who has unique interpretation of the music he plays. I went to his concert with Steve at centre theatre, it was a very pure and touching experience.
Response from Michael Shingo Crawford:
Thanks for coming to my First Sunday concert at the Centre Theater in Norristown!
I hired Michael to surprise my girlfriend who I proposed to earlier in the day. He Was very flexible with the sings I requested, flexible with a last minute time change, and came dressed in a very spiffy suit. He slept an excellent violinist and my girlfriend recognized it was a Beyoncé song within 5 seconds. It was a truly memorable experience and my girlfriend was crying the whole time! Would def hire again!
I have had the opportunity to work with Michael in a variety of musical capacities. He's my ensemble's core violinist, having performed with us in nearly ever show we've done (from new opera to Schoenberg's 'Pierrot Lunaire'). I've also worked with him in organizing the Temple Composers Orchestra, where he is the concert master. There he helped coach the string section in approaching complex new music and led the orchestra through six premieres. He is incredibly reliable, honest, hard working, always prepared, and has an abounding creative and musical mind. His insight, talent, and dedication make everyone around him better, and I know that if he's in my ensemble, or playing my piece, or writing for my ensemble, the music making will be better. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone!
I've had the pleasure of working on a number of projects in professional capacities with Michael. With confidence I can attest to his professionalism, punctuality, and most importantly his splendid musical capacities. I would highly recommend him for any event or setting in need of a violinist.
Michael is greatly gifted, an excellent violinist, always extremely prepared, and most affable.
