Michael St. John “Jake’ and Marten Benatar “Elwood” are the top Blues Brothers Revue in the World. In addition, they have established themselves in the entertainment industry with over 30 years of combined music and performance experience. St. John & Benatar are seasoned entertainers and musicians and therefore take every bit of their expertise and professionalism to the stage each time that they perform. Secondly, they have surrounded themselves with an allstar blues band with some of the top musicians in the industry. Above all, The Briefcase Blues Brothers is a funny, fun, interactive revue that leaves audiences with a smile on their face and love in their hearts.
Michael St. John
is a seasoned veteran performer of over 30 years. He started in 1982 with his band “The Briefcase Blues Band” in Sacramento, CA playing local clubs and special events. The act went on the Nevada casino circuit in 1985 and he eventually ended up as a featured performer in the Las Vegas based show “Legends In Concert” portraying “Jake Blues” of “The Blues Brothers”.
Michael traveled all over the world and the US performing in many venues with “Legends” and with his own band. In 2006 he produced his own show “The Bluesdaddy Rockin’ Soul Revue” in Branson, MO.
He has shared the stage with many top acts over the years including The Original Coasters, Bobby Day, Al Wilson, Lesley Gore, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, The Beatles tribute “Rain”, Paul Revere and the Raiders plus current and former members of the group Tower of Power.
Michael’s goal is to provide a great musical experience and the essence of the character “Jake Blues” capturing the Comedic elements, and the Soul, R&B, Funk, and Rock and Roll that made the “Blues Brothers” such a fun and musically diverse act.
Michael has always made it his number one priority to make sure the audience has a great time!
Marten Benatar
Marten’s musical expertise is multi faceted. He is a Drummer, Percussionist, vocalist, blues harp player, producer, and a consummate entertainer that has been entertaining audiences around the world for 3 decades.
He starred in (as Elwood Blues of The Blues Brothers) and produced the critically acclaimed show Rubber Biscuit’s Rockin` Blues Revue/Tahoe Lives Rocking Blues Revue. The show ran for 18 years and held contracts with Caesar’s Entertainment with Performances at Harvey’s Casino Resort’s Emerald Theatre, Harrah’s Tahoe South Shore Room, Harrah’s Reno Sammy’s Show Room, The Venetian Las Vegas, Casino Magic Biloxi Ms., Lady Luck Casino, Moline, IA., Hollywood Casino, Shreveport LA., Major fairs and festivals across the U.S. and cruise ships world wide.
He has shared the stage with, Eddy Money, Survivor, Tommy Tutone, The Commodores, Norton Buffalo, Tommy Castro, Mary Wilson & The Supremes, and The Beach Boys to name a few.
Marten has personified the character of Elwood Blues and makes each and every night a fun, exciting, interactive and unique entertainment experience for the audience. He strives to emote a positive, high energy, heartfelt atmosphere, that sends audiences home with a smile on the their face and some love in their heart.
