The Milwaukee String Quartet has been providing music for special events in the Milwaukee metropolitan area for over 20 years. We do not contract other musicians: The members of our quartet are the musicians who will be performing at your event.
Even though we prefer to play as a quartet, we can also be hired as a solo instrument, duo or trio. Additional types of instrumentalists (winds, voice, etc.) can be added if you would like.
Our repertoire is large and varied and we are happy to expand that with your own special request! We would love to provide music for your event: Wedding ceremonies, cocktail hour, receptions, holiday parties, corporate events...any celebration you can imagine!
JoAnn was very easy to work with. The duo showed up on time, set up, and were self-sufficient the entire evening. They actually played a little longer than they were contracted for and we very much appreciated it. Their performance added a touch of elegance and holiday cheer to our event. Booking was simple, JoAnn was easy to work with, and my guests ask commented on how nice the music was. I only heard a few minutes as I was running around, but in the short bits I heard, I heard favorite songs and it sounded so beautiful. Thank you!
Price Range: $200 and up
Our four musicians are degreed, free-lance music professionals and have been or are currently associated with many performing ensembles in the greater Milwaukee area; including the Festival City Symphony, Racine Symphony, the Wisconsin Philharmonic, Kenosha Symphony and Camerata Milwaukee , to name a few. In addition they maintain busy private teaching studios.
We do not provide amplification, and in most instances this is not necessary. The quartet sound will carry in any church, and outside very well. If you wish us to perform as background music for a very large, noisy venue, you may consider contacting the venue to see if they can amplify us through their house system.
In case of outdoor events, the quartet does require some shade and protection from rain. Even a tiny amount of rain would force us to put our instruments away. A 10X10 foot canopy is sufficient for sun or rain (unless torrential) protection and some shady trees could do for just sun protection. We do not provide canopies. They can be rented, and some venues do have their own.
