The Minneapolis Jazz Guitar Duo (MJGD) is a premier ensemble based in Minneapolis, renowned for creating the perfect musical atmosphere for formal events. Whether it's a wedding, corporate function, reception, or private party, MJGD delivers elegant and sophisticated live music. Specializing in jazz standards, the duo provides a refined, warm, and timeless sound that enhances any occasion.
David Martin, a versatile guitarist and bassist from the Ohio/West Virginia area, has spent most of the last 25 years in Minneapolis, performing across various styles. He has recorded three CDs with guitarist Mike Doolin, including their latest, Dark Star (2016), and his own CD, Play On (2019), featuring vocalist Vicky Mountain. David has been recognized with several grants, including the 2020 Artist Rescue Trust Grant and the Twin Cities Music Community Trust Grant.
Serdar G, originally from Ankara, Türkiye, brings a wealth of experience in reggae, calypso, and soca music. With a background in notable bands such as Cyril Paul and the Calypso Monarchs, Shangoya, and the award-winning Dred I Dread, Serdar has played guitar with Dred I Dread since 2001, contributing to six albums. He has also performed alongside international acts including The Wailers, Yellowman, and Chronixx.
MJGD provides exceptional entertainment for a broad range of events, including weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, graduations, and engagements, ensuring the perfect soundtrack for any memorable occasion.
