Moonshine Mollys

Most recently, this female country duo played for a packed crowd on the Window on the West Stage at the Calgary Stampede and Nashville Afternoons at Sunfest Country Music festival in the beautiful Cowichan Valley. Moonshine Mollys released new music with the release of Midnight Moon May 12. Earlier this year, Cassandra & Breanna were the cover feature artist on the February 2023 issue of Lazie Indie Magazine, along with a nine page spread interview. In the summer of 2022, the duo released their debut single, TIME followed by the Fall 2022 release of their second single, By the Rivers Edge. They are continuing to write and create new music with a single, Midnight Moon to be released May 2023. With a special tribute coming this winter following their writing trip to Nashville September 2023.

Co-Lead singers, Cassandra Smith and Breanna Nixon have been singing together since 2018, starting as an eight piece cover band performing festivals and venues on Vancouver Island. When the world took a turn in 2020 Moonshine Mollys made the decision to become a female country duo. Seeing an opportunity to find their voice and new sound, with something to say these singer songwriters are planning a full album. The duo is not wasting no time writing and recording their original music with time being so precious. Their repertoire consists of original country music with blues and folk elements. Along with a variety of 90’s and old country classics.

The chemistry between Nixon and Smith is undeniable. These two are genuine and down to earth with a great sense of humor. Breanna identifies as first nations, while Cassandra is of European descent. The two bring relatable stories that win you over, even if you are not a country fan.
