More Cowbell

While new to Gigsalad, More Cowbell is no stranger to the wedding scene. We play about 15-20 weddings a year (and other events) and have done much booking through other sources not only locally, but around the web. To get you up to speed....More Cowbell was formed in the mid-2000s, playing the club circuit and parties in the Birmingham area by Hank Briley. While enjoying this immensely, he also thought to himself, "I don't really dig getting home at 4am...neither does my wife", so he shifted the path of the band to doing nothing but weddings and special events (the wife appreciated this) and More Cowbell as you see it today came to pass. Then new lineup now consisted of Birmingham music vets Tony Middleton (guitar), James Tunnell (bass guitar), and Brian Smith (guitar) we're soon on board (playing together for 20+ years) along with long time local favorite Stephen Rockett on the drums. The current version has now been playing together ever since 2011, averaging 20 weddings a year all over the Southeast. Hank has since retired from the biz, and has been replaced with professional musician Eric McGinty. Eric brings much to the plate with his showmanship and diverse musical taste.
