I have experience playing with others in both small and large groups and also just playing solo. Typically, I play with cello, guitar, piano, and mandolin. Whatever you'd like, I will always do my utmost to provide. I have experience playing jazz, country/folk, blues, rock, pop, CCM/gospel, and classical music (orchestral, quartet, etc). I also have some experience in arranging. I'm a trained performer and musician. The sky is the limit, and I'm always looking for a new challenge!
Morgan began playing violin when she was 7 years old. Her father wanted to start a family porch band called Plex. The porch band never happened, but, the only musician in her family, Morgan kept playing and taking lessons anyway. As a child and teen she participated in local talent shows, benefits, and community shows. She played at the churches in the area for services, funerals, and weddings. She played in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and Youth Symphony from the time she was eleven until eighteen. She played in multiple master classes, went to many summer music camps, and began applying her hand to teaching. She began session work through friends and family who asked her many times to play their music. She was privileged to play on the local radio stations a handful of times as well.
In May 2021, Morgan graduated Belmont University with an undergraduate degree in commercial music with an emphasis on violin performance. There she had access to top notch teachers, like Elisabeth Small, Ryan Joseph, Billy Contreras, and Tracy Silverman who helped her perfect her technical skills and delve deeper into genres like bluegrass, country, folk, rock and jazz. Because of her diverse experience, she has had the honor of playing in many different settings, classical and modern alike, such as orchestras, chamber groups, and bands.
Currently, she is busy teaching violin and viola to all ages and recording often in the studio and remotely, with goals of becoming a consistent session player one day. She performs frequently with various artists, and she has started writing her own music.
I can do acoustic or electric violin/viola. If you'd like electric, I will just need an outlet and ideally a sound system. I do have capabilities to bring my own however.
