Murder and Merriment

Our Clients and their Guests get to experience an evening of an Interactive Murder Mystery. During the performance suspects will perform amongst you along with a Detective who will assist you in trying to solve the mystery. Somewhere along the way, a crime is committed, and the audience is invited to play detective. Guests may participate as much or as little as they desire. At the end of the performance, Guests will complete a ballot on which they will make their determination as to "Who Dunnit?" Those guessing correctly will compete to win a prize from the Host. Typically our murder mysteries are presented along with Dinner or hors d'oeuvres.

George R. Snider III created Murder and Merriment. He has experience writing and developing murder mystery parties since 1988. With over 40 years of acting credits and 25 years of directing theatrical productions, George brings a valuable set of skills to ensure high class entertainment for your organization or event. Our performers come from a talent pool of experienced actors from West Virginia, Ohio, & Kentucky. Our typical murder mystery will furnish you with a cast size of 8 to 10 actors. Coupled with intriguing mystery stories, our performers have made our productions a hit with audiences everywhere they have been performed.

Contact one of our experienced event planners and provide us with the basic details about your event. We will provide you with a cost estimate and a blueprint for a successful mystery. Once we receive your approval, we'll work closely with you to effectively plan your event and keep you in budget.

At your Murder Party, your Guests will receive specially tailored clue booklets which will give them details on the Mystery, a dossier on each of the Characters (Suspects), a section to take notes, and optional placement of advertisements for your organization if desired.

Our typical Murder Mystery lasts approximately two hours. We can accommodate an entire weekend or full business day if desired. Our average size party ranges from 40 to 100 Guests. But we are fully equipped to stage a party for groups as small as 20 and as large as 500 Guests if requested.

The Client will be responsible for:
a. Inviting the Guests and maintaining a headcount.
b. Providing Gift Prizes (at least one) to Guests who correctly guess “Who Dunnit?”
c. Paying the Performer and providing dinner for the Actors on the performance date.
d. Providing performance location.
e. Providing a Caterer and selecting a Menu for the event.
f. Providing a secure room for the Actors to store their personal belongings during the performance.
g. Providing an approximate headcount to the Performer at least 3 days prior to the Party.
h. Providing pencils or pens for the Guests to take notes with.
i. Providing sufficient liability insurance coverage for Guests while they are on the property of the murder mystery location.

Murder and Merriment will be responsible for:
a. Providing the Murder Mystery Entertainment.
b. Selecting, Hiring, and Paying the Actors involved.
c. Providing any and all props and costumes.
d. Providing Clue Booklets for all Guests.
e. Providing both a Poster and Flyer Design to be used for marketing to your Guests.
f. Assisting the Client with Promotion: Press Releases & On-line Marketing

As a Client, you can choose from any of our 30 Murder Mysteries for us to perform. We are the largest theatre company in WV and have a professional company of over 100 performers. We would like to help you stage an unforgettable and successful event. Your Guests will love the interactive component of our shows. Murder is the game, and your Guests will have the opportunity to play Detective by questioning the suspects and examining clues. This is an event that will be talked about for years!

Our Murder Mysteries can be hosted in a private home, hotel, resort, restaurant, train, boat, theatre, or business location.

Many of our Murder Mysteries can be costumed events in which the Guests can "dress up" in the time period or setting of the Mystery.
