As a solo violinist or joined by other Southern Maine-based string players for a duo, trio, or quartet, I’m here to make sure your important day has a beautiful soundtrack. Whether performing prelude music as guests arrive for a wedding ceremony or savoring brand-new compositions during a recording session, I will help your vision sing.
From classical to pop, standard jazz melodies to heavy rock, we are versatile and ideal for private events. This includes--but isn’t limited to--weddings, birthday parties, memorial services, holiday parties, and conferences. I have an extensive library of music from years of performing and will curate a playlist based on your input.
Mia Bella was an amazing addition to our wedding day! Her music was beautiful and perfectly complemented our ceremony and cocktail hour. She was so communicative leading up to our big day, making sure she had a sense for our music taste and every little detail to time things right for our professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to have beautiful live music at their event.
Mia and the cello player she brought with her, did an AMAZING job for our wedding ceremony. It was perfect and she is so professional and easy to work with / communicate. We highly recommend her for weddings and other events.
I reached out to Mia Bella about hiring a trio or quartet to play for a memorial service on July 5th, which was the first challenge! Mia Bella was always very quick to respond and was always sweet, helpful and organized. After a couple weeks I reached out to ask her if should could find another musician so it could be a quartet and she again, made it happen!
The day of the memorial guests were delayed arriving, due to traffic, and things felt like they were getting off track. The quartet just kept playing while guests arrived and looked at pictures. They played at least twice as long as previously planned or discussed. I could not be more grateful for their performance and how it gracefully glossed over other hiccups. They were professional, talented and I was grateful and impressed for their presence and performance!
I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful it was working with Mia Bella for my wedding. From the very first conversation she completely understood the vision I wanted for the music and every time I had a question (and I had many!!) or something I wanted to add to the set list, she couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating each time. On the actual wedding day I was blown away by how beautiful the music was and how much it added to the event. At a certain point my guests were taking photos outside, and Mia Bella and her partner moved to playing in the open chapel doors so everyone could hear the music. My guests were all raving about how lovely and amazing the music was. A week before the wedding I had sent over a few extra requests that had not been previously discussed just on the off chance that one or two could be added, and she played all of them. If you’re considering having musicians play at your wedding you’d be lucky to work with Mia Bella!

We were so grateful to Mia as she helped make our wedding such a memorable event. She played with another musician she'd never met before and their performance was stellar. Guests were utterly amazed they'd never played with each other before this event. Her professionalism, expertise and dedication to your art was amazing.
Thank You:)

We were so fortunate to have Mia join us for our holiday celebration this year. She is extremely talented and has an expansive setlist to choose from! Mia was able to fit us in to her very busy holiday schedule, and we are so appreciative of the time that she was able to spend with us. Thank you so much Mia!

Thank you for having me to play at Piper's wedding, Marybeth, what a beautiful day!
Mia was amazingly communicative, on top of it, and easy to coordinate with. She played solo for my ceremony and it added a really magical touch. She provided song suggestions and guidance which made planning a breeze. I never was able to meet her in person that day but those that did said she was really lovely!
Response from Music Mia Bella:
Thank you for the kind words, Lexi! You and Archie’s wedding was such fun to be part of, and what a beautiful setting :)
If there were ten stars available, we would have given them, and then some. We had a 20 person intimate event on our back deck. We are still getting emails and phone calls about how beautiful this woman and her cellist partner played. We look forward to making them a regular occasion next summer during lavender season. Absolutely beautiful!
Despite the wind and the hot sun, Mia Bella and Volkhard Lindner gave us an excellent performance! I would recommend Mia Bella to anyone looking for a professional violinist to give a performance at a public event.

We had the pleasure of having Mia Bella play violin for our micro wedding and it was truly the perfect addition to our day. All the songs were executed to perfection! After the wedding she played a mix of classical and a few pop songs during cocktail hour and photos which all our guest enjoyed. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a solo violinist for any occasion! Thanks Mia Bella!🙂
Perfection!! Mia was a joy to work with to plan classical music for our wedding.. every idea was a delightful collaboration and then to have her appear and give a performance that was like a symphony experience.. do not hesitate to have Mia perform at your event if you are looking for a classical masterpiece!

Thank you, Mandy! It was exciting to share one of the residents' first evenings back with live music.
The best decision I made, was to have a violinist at my daughters wedding. Mia was a delight to work with. She showed up early and played for 2 hours straight. The music was lovely to hear, as she is very talented. I heard many compliments on her performance from the guests and the bride.
Thank you Mia, you added a special touch to my daughters perfect day.
Response from Music Mia Bella:
Thanks, Sue, it was a beautiful celebration! I appreciate the kind words!
Mia Bella is an extremely talented violinist, and we could not be happier with having her play for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. She also brought another musician with her for the ceremony (a cellist), so we could have a string duo. They both did a beautiful job with everything they played and set the tone for our special day, giving us exactly what we wanted. Mia Bella was great to work with throughout the entire planning process. She was responsive, professional, and friendly! If you are looking for an incredible violinist for your wedding day, look no further. We hope we can hire her again someday in the future!
Mía Made the event so beautiful and heartwarming. Played phenomenally, sounded incredible! Wouldn’t have been as magical of a moment without her. Would hire her again in a second!
Response from Music Mia Bella:
Your proposal to Bri was an amazing moment to be part of, thank you Marty!
Mia was extremely considerate of my last minute planning (two week notice) and was able to make my proposal an unforgettable experience. She was not only able to work within my time constraint, but able to find another musician at my request, quitely enter the performance area, and help surprise my (now) fiancé. I hope to work with Mia and her network again!
Response from Music Mia Bella:
Thanks, Ryan! It was a joy for us to be part of your surprise for Emma. Congratulations on your engagement!
Mia was early for the event and stayed way after to play for remaining guests! Her music was beautiful and the perfect touch for my daughters wedding!!! Thank you Mia!!!!
Mia Bella,
Exceptional! She made the event (my guests are still talking about her). Her music is beautiful with a wide repertoire to accommodate all tastes. She has the perfect demeanor and knows how to please her audience. She played through cocktails/appetizers and dinner without breaks (several hours as promised). Reasonable fees made for an extraordinary value. We would hire her again without hesitation.
Response from Music Mia Bella:

Mia Bella was a joy to work with! She was extremely organized and stayed on top of all details to ensure that the music for our wedding was what we expected. Mia Bella incorporated all of our specific music requests, but was also flexible in offering her own input and ideas when asked. Mia Bella went out of her way to add some of the additional music we were looking for. All of our guests were so pleased with the full quartet performance and the music was thoroughly enjoyed. —Annie (wedding)

Bio:
I play the violin, compose, and love chamber music of all kinds. On alternating days I have been found playing brand new music, Haydn string quartets, Argentine tango, drone metal, free improvisation, and in a professional orchestra. I am a substitute violinist with the Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra and co-founder of Duo Mycorrhizae, a violin duo dedicated to exploring the vibrancy of new and old sound worlds.
Before I moved to southern Maine in 2019, I lived in Oakland, CA for 9 years. There, I was a member of the Town Quartet (a traditional string quartet), Sl(e)ight Ensemble (flute/violin/piano trio of original compositions with Erika Oba and Jacob Lane), and Redwood Tango Ensemble (a sextet for new chamber music led by bandoneonist Charles Gorczynski), among other projects. I was assistant principal second with Livermore Valley Opera from (phone number hidden)9, and for the 2017-18 season I was interim assistant concertmaster with the North State Symphony. I have sat concertmaster for ensembles including Camellia Symphony Orchestra, Mercury Soul Orchestra, and Slavyanka Russian Chorus and Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, I started playing in the back of the second violin section at age 7 in a local community orchestra, the Paradise Symphony Orchestra.
Working with living composers is a big part of my life, especially time spent with those listed above and Ian Carey, Brett Carson, Andrew Jamieson, Roscoe Mitchell, and Lewis Patzner. My collaborations often include venues that are not a concert hall, from art galleries to bars and living rooms, since I believe this is the future classical music (as it is the past). Studying with Gloria Justen, I received a BA in Music Performance from Mills College in 2014. While at Mills, my chamber music coaches were Joan Jeanrenaud, William Winant, and Robert Schwartz, and my free improvisation and composition teachers were Fred Frith and Roscoe Mitchell.
I take lessons to this day. I continued studying with Gloria Justen after college and have also worked with Charles Dimmick, Ramiro Gallo, Frederick Lifsitz, and Catherine Van Hoesen. As a teacher myself, I have been a guest chamber music coach at CSU Chico (with the Town Quartet), Hayward Odd Fellows Youth Chamber Music Project, and MTAC Butte County. I am attentive to each player’s drive to learn, working on technique and musicianship with the help of established method books and personally developed material. I encourage students to use their own knowledge of music to create pieces and exercises as they progress. I believe that through exploration and personal initiative, anyone can embrace their creativity and be a musician.
For daytime outdoor events, shade is necessary to protect delicate instruments. Cover must be provided in the case of rain or threatening weather
Good light is important for reading music; if notified I can provide my own lighting
As a solo performer, I will need a chair only if there are breaks during my performance time. For duos, trios, and quartets the group would require 2-4 armless chairs
