Musical Mysteries & More has been a staple of the Pittsburgh community for over 15 years. As a full-service mystery theatre company, we specialize in comedy & music parodies, weaving popular tunes into almost all our scripts, which may leave you wondering whether you just saw a murder mystery or a musical comedy.
We come completely equipped with our own wireless microphone and sound system. All you need to provide is the food and the room to perform (oh...and the guests, of course). Or allow us to suggest one of the many restaurants, wineries, and resorts we perform throughout western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. And we can perform for as few as 20 or as many as 200.
It was such a great performance. Good humor and interaction to keep you entertained. Everyone who attended told me after they had no idea what to expect, but enjoyed tremendously!!!
Response from Musical Mysteries & More:
Thanks for the review, Lindy. We had a great time as well. Hopefully you'll get the chance to see another of our shows in the future at The Lamplighter, Greenhouse Winery, or one of the other venues we regularly perform close to you.
Price Range: $1200-$3000 depending on distance and # of guests

We offer a 3-Act Comedy, Musical Mystery show. We typically perform each act between courses of dinner or lunch allowing for a smooth transition from food to show. And we perform in the middle of the room so there isn't a bad seat in the house.
Most acts of all of our shows run approximately half an hour. We can also set up our shows to run as a stage or in the round production without dinner (run-time: approximately 1.5 hours).
And we bring our entire sound system including wireless microphones and speakers to your location. We typically use a small Bose Tower Speaker system so we can fit our sound into a fairly compact space (no mammoth rock & roll speakers for us -- or you to deal with).
Musical Mysteries & More is a Pittsburgh-based mystery company that provides mystery dinner theater with a Musical Comedy flare. All but two of our shows use music and dance as a way to enhance the plot or for just a silly break. We love Musical Theatre and we love Comedy and we love Interactive Dinner Theater. And we've worked out a way to incorporate ALL THREE!
Our shows are all written in-house and are performed by musical theater professionals. We love what we do and it shows. But don't take our word for it, book us and see if you don't feel the same way about us.
We bring our own complete sound system
OUR REQUIREMENTS ARE:
10'x12' space in the middle of the room for us to perform (or a stage space of approximately the same size).
A space in the corner of the room (or an adjacent room) for us to place our sound board out of the way of guests. We do have portable walls to close off the backstage space from the guests.
A small but sturdy table for us to place our sound cube.
A closed off backstage area for us to change and get ready.
Complimentary meal service for 5-7 actors (can easily be what guests are having if that's easier). Actors arrive 2 hours prior to doors open to set up sound, tape down wires and do a sound check. This is a full 6-8 hour day for them from start to finish, so we need to make certain they're fed.
Ideally your event should take place in a separate banquet room with a closed door (if having the event in a restaurant or bar). We highly recommend this because our speakers are pretty powerful and will rival ambient noise from the rest of the facility if not properly closed off. Plus you don't want non-guests peeking in on the performance, do you?

Our influences come from many sources. Comedically we connect with the old Carol Burnett show, Monty Python, Black Adder (with Rowan Atkinson), and the king of all ridiculous comedy, Mel Brooks. Musically, we blend song styles from pop to rock to musicals in order to seamlessly connect with the place or time period we are spoofing.
