I provide vocal jazz and scat with excellent musicians backing. The presentation can be a duo, trio, quartet, or any combination and instrumentation you prefer. I know a great number of jazz tunes that range from classic to contemporary in style - eg, Ellington, Cole Porter, T Monk, & B Dorough.
My performance is artistic, lively, easygoing or danceable, or bebop, scat, or more modern and contemplative or romantic jazz - according to your wishes.
I also perform pop/rock/soul/folk music up to 2000 and country classics.
Musicians with whom I play are highly accomplished graduates of Berklee College and New England Conservatory.
Nancy is a gifted vocalist with a keen skill for bringing her bands to life with her unique phrasing, vocal presence, and intimate style. She has many great treatments of tunes ranging from jazz standards; to funk, and many more under the jazz umbrella. She is an absolute pleasure to play with and also a very kind person to hang with. I will appear as a well ensembled and comported person who tailors what she does according to your need. For example, song selections and tenor will match the intended ambience. I will be accompanied by highly skilled musicians which could be one to more, depending on what you choose. Mood, relaxed atmosphere, vocal focus, danceability, etc, for example, will be accommodated accordingly. I also know lot of songs and can be asked for particular songs from an audience.
I have been working for much of the time at behavioral and neuropsychology. I performed original rock in past periods and some jazz. I am now devoting myself to vocal artistry and singing jazz. My style is interpretive and includes scat. I currently have been singing at events with skilled Berklee and New England Conservatory jazz musicians. I wish to obtain jazz vocal gigs to be accompanied by one or more excellent jazz players.
I also know a lot of kinds of music from rock to pop to classic country and soul, etc.
