Napatia t. Gettings md is the preeminent authority on mind body medicine, emotional physical connection, and integrated wellness. She is a double board certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist speaking globally about the importance of mental and physical health integration. There is a common perception that the mind and body are separate however 75 percent of all physical disease is secondary to emotional disease. Dr. Gettings educates her audience on various diseases that are caused by underlying unhealthy emotions. Her mission is to educate the public about the inseparable connection between the mind and the body.

Napatia T. Gettings, MD FAACAP has a wide array of clinical and leadership experience that has solidified her expertise in the field of mental health and wellness. She readily proclaims that we are all a product of our collective experiences, biological predispositions, and nurturing process. Dr. Gettings’ practice within the medical specialty of Psychiatry includes advocacy, legislative policy, mental health awareness, removing stigma, and education.
She is a married mother of four who currently practices medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She is the President and Medical Director of The Full Circle Alliance Inc; a private mental health practice which opened its doors in 2014. She is also the founder of Clarion Conscience LLC; a movement and campaign initiative designed to educate society regarding the importance of maintaining mental wellness and removing stigma.
Dr. Gettings attended Dartmouth College. After completing freshman year at Dartmouth College she transferred to The University of Chicago as a Biological Sciences major. In 2003, Dr. Gettings obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and continued on to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine graduating in 2007 with her Doctorate of Medicine.
Dr. Gettings completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry at The University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010. Dr. She then pursued further specialty training at The University of Illinois Institute of Juvenile Research completing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2012. Her clinical work has also been noted in a special report on Chicago gun violence featured in Ebony Magazine in August of 2013. In May of 2015 she was elected as the Secretary of the Illinois Psychiatric Society.
She is an active member of The Illinois State Medical Society, The Chicago Medical Society, The American Psychiatric Association, and the American Medical Association. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and holds double board certifications in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
