Nate was an awesome addition to our party. He played great music and even let the children take over for a song. He kept everyone happy and we would highly recommend him!

Nate Brown played at my wife's birthday party. He was great to coordinate with ahead of the event, making sure to be ready if we had any special requests. He really made his set up worry-free. His music was outstanding. He actually warmed up with some Christmas music, which our 2 year old loved and got us in a festive spirit. He played a great mix, including steel drum versions of current hits as well as classics, and to top it all off - a very special version of Happy Birthday!

We highly recommend Mr. Brown for your events and hope to have him back at a future party of ours.

What a wonderful time. This was a family reunion event and Nate involved a birthday song for one of the children and also taught the kids how to play the drums at one point. He was family friendly and everyone who attended loved his performance.

Nate can turn an ordinary event into something spectacular! Despite our efforts to provide great food, drinks around our highly decorated pool, Nate 'stole the show'. Our guests raved about his performance and his ability to engage everyone at the graduation party. He even provided enough guidance for our guest of honor to perform with him for a featured song. Three days after the event, we are still getting kudos for Nate. If you are on the fence about selecting an entertainer - HIRE NATE and have fun.

Mr. Brown added such a delight to our party with his genuine kind smile ( we felt it even mask on) and his beautiful steel drum talent. Our beach themed 4th of July party immediately turned into a Caribbean resort quality with his music. Can’t wait to throw another party and hire him to play more for us!

Nate took us to the beaches of the Caribbean Islands. Steel drum and song choices were excellent for the environment. We all danced and kept social distance. Thank you for this lovely evening entertainment.

Sorry for the belated review but Nate Brown played the steel drums for a couple hours at my wife's surprise party last August and did an outstanding job.

Besides sounding great, he was excellent in interacting with his audience, particularly the kids as he had some up playing the drums.

Th only disappointment was my own in wishing I'd booked him for a longer period of time. I won't hesitate to hire him again for the next event as well and recommend you consider him if in the market for a steel drummer.

Mr. Brown came to my Black History Month event at my company Synchrony Financial and his performance was SIMPLY AMAZING! Mr. Brown kept the associates engaged and entertained. Mr. Brown also shared the history of of his music and African American history. My associates joined in dancing and playing the drums. If I could give him 10 stars I would. Hi everyone! I am originally from Trinidad but moved to the US when I was 19 years old. For our wedding, I really wanted something that represented where I was from, so we decided to hire Nate to play during the cocktail hour. Fortunately for us...On our wedding day, Hurricane Matthew was right over our wedding venue!! One hour before the ceremony, the power went out at the venue. Not only did Nate show up on time despite the deplorable weather, but he played for an extended period of time to make up for no other music at all!!! I do not give these types of reviews very often, but Nate is seriously an amazing, outstanding person to work with. Very professional and definitely goes above and beyond! We were sooo impressed and so were our guests. Nate - you made our special day even better with your generosity and talent! THANK YOU!!!

Mr. Brown did an amazing job playing the steel drum for my cocktail hour. He was very prompt and professional. All of my guests loved this added touch as my husband was very surprised to have him there playing. I would definitely recommend Mr. Brown for your event. Thank you for being so accommodating for my event!

We hired Nate to create an island feeling for our daughter's island-themed bat mitzvah, and he delivered. He played for the adults during the cocktail hour and then for the adults and kids as they worked their way through the buffet. Everyone was commenting on what a great addition it was to the tropical theme, and his songs were a perfect mix of reggae and contemporary classics. Apparently, at one point he did a little singing along with his steel-drum playing, which I missed, but that seemed to be a big hit with guests. Our schedule was running late, and Nate was flexible about playing a bit longer. He was professional at the event as well as during the planning stages. Because of other party elements, we needed to adjust Nate's role at the party a couple times during the planning stages and he was always happy to oblige. His rates are also very reasonable. So glad we hired Nate.

My son and his bride were going to honeymoon in St. Lucia so my wife and I decided to do an "island style" rehearsal dinner. In keeping with that theme, we decided to hire a steel drum player and found Nate Brown's site on the internet. As his reviews indicated, he was a great pleasure to work with. Very talented, very easy to communicate with, responded to emails very quickly, allowed us to tailor a song list, and traveled from Charlotte to Greenville, SC to do our event. His prices are very reasonable. We actually asked him to play a little longer than we originally contracted for, and he willingly did so at a very reasonable price. He is awesome! His personality and his steel pan completely set the mood we were hoping for at our event. He even gave the bride and groom a quick lesson and allowed them to play the pan also. I would unreservedly highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed.

I am from Trinidad, the island that invented steel pan music. My daughter was getting married in Winston-Salem, NC and I wanted to include the music from my homeland when I found Nate Brown. Mr. Brown was always professional in his manner and communication with me. On the day of the event he was on time and literally "brought the house down." My family and friends all Trinidadians by birth, some of whom currently reside in Trinidad and others in Brooklyn, NY, were all impressed with Mr. Brown. My cousin, a regular at the Panorama competitions in Trinidad even commented that Nate Brown was Panorama worthy. The non-Caribbean guest, including the staff and management for my daughter's wedding venue were all in awe of Mr. Brown's skills. I would highly recommend him to anyone wishing to have authentic steel pan music. Mr. Brown's passion for this instrument comes through in the music.

Nate played before my wedding ceremony and during the cocktail hour at an outdoor venue. He played recognizable songs and everyone enjoyed his music. Would definitely book him again for other events.

We hired Nate to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Nate agreed to arrive between 4:00 and 4:30 and would have everything setup by 4:45 - 5:00 to begin playing. At 4:30 he had not arrived and had not notified anyone that he would be delayed. I contacted Nate and he he advised he was still 28 minutes out (according to his GPS), and would still need time to setup. Understanding that we had 150 guests waiting we had to begin the wedding ceremony with the DJ playing our music selections.
I advised Nate that I would not be able to pay him the balance of our contract understanding that being late, he now would only be playing for an hour, and we had paid for an hours worth of service within our deposit. I would not pay the full contract price understanding that he was over an hour late, and now could not play the wedding ceremony (which was the reason that we hired him to start with). He responded stating that he could not come at all if he was not paid the full balance. So essentially wanted the full 3 hours worth of pay for being late and only playing for an hour.
I asked Nate for our deposit back understanding that it was his breech of contract for not arriving on time and he refuses to return the deposit. So buyer beware. If you cannot run on Nate's schedule, then you will not be going at all. And you will not be refunded your money.
Very unprofessional in my opinion and I would not recommend doing business with him.

We were VERY pleased with Nate's performance at our large pool party. His music created a wonderful atmosphere and kept everyone feeling happy and light-hearted the entire time! Nate is extremely personable as well as prompt and affordable. We are definitely going to recommend him to others - especially our other properties for their events!

After getting married down in the islands, we held a reception for family and friends upon our return to North Carolina. We found Nate on Gig Salad and could not be happier with his steel drum playing! He did an excellent job and I received so many compliments about how good he was and how great he sounded. His steel pan drum playing was just perfect for our Caribbean themed reception and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Nate was able to play at my fathers funeral at a 24 hour notice. It was very peaceful and exactly what he would have wanted. Nate was on time, organized, and Was very easy to work with.

We hired Nate to play at our wedding reception while our guests were arriving, a cocktail hour and during dinner. He did such a wonderful job!!! Our wedding was at North Myrtle Beach and our reception was held outside under a beach house a few bloacks away from the beach. With breeze from the ocean and the sounds of the steel drum along with his selection of music, it completely set the mood! His playing really gave our party a tropical feel and added such a special touch! At one point, his time was almost up to be finished playing and we asked him to play longer (which he had absolutley no problem with!). I would have asked him to play all night if I could!! All of our guests couldn't stop talking about how good he was and how it really made the party that much more fun!! Hiring Nate was one of the best decisions of the wedding and I'm so glad we did! Not to mention, he was extremely professional and made sure that I, the bride, was happy and stress free the day of the wedding. He made sure to make arrangements to speak to someone else for instructions and questions the day of so that I would not be bothered and could relax and focus on me before I walked down the aisle. He also communicated very well with me prior to the wedding via phone calls, text messages and e-mails. He sent me a list of his songs and worked with me on what I wanted played at the party. He stayed in contact with me during the planning process and 2 days before the wedding contacted me for a final run through and planning so that I was worry free! I would reccomend him to anyone!

Nate Brown provided entertainment at our family reunion, and was well received by everyone present. The music was awesome! Even the cooks in the kitchen were dancing and humming along. To my surprise, many of my family members had already heard his music from attending other local events.They were especially thrilled to know that he would be playing for us. We would definitely use his services again. He was very professional and everyone had an amazing time.

Mr. Brown was a big hit at our Vacation Bible School. He did a wonderful job teaching the students about the steel drums. Then he performed great steel drum music that set the perfect mood for our closing celebration. He was flexible and easy to work with. We would highly recommend him to groups that look to please a wide range of ages.

Mr. Brown delighted the audience with his music. We were very glad to have him again for a second year. His performance is one you will thoroughly enjoy!

We hired Nate Brown to play at a Summer Reading event at our library. He was courteous and professional, but best of all, a huge hit with our patrons. He pleased a crowd that ranged from small children to older adults.

Hired Nate last weekend for small outdoor party and he was incredible. He came on time and was flexible to stay longer. He played many great hits and took requests. Even found a way to incorporate a funny story that he over heard in the crowd, into a song. I can't say enough. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was blown away. Hope this review, does it justice. Nate was the highlight of my husbands 50th birthday party! He is a very talented musician and a great entertainer. He was prompt and graciously adapted to playing on a pontoon boat on our dock. We were not ready for him to leave even though he had played from 1to 6! We will hire Nate again and we highly recommended him.

Nate Brown was definitely the highlight of our Church's Mission Fair this spring. He created a bubbly relaxing atmosphere with his island tunes. We can not wait to have him back next year! This is honestly a great preforming choice for any occasion.

My family and I were having lunch at Omaha Steakhouse at the Embassy Suites (S.Tryon)and heard the most delicate relaxing ensemble during our lunch that we changed our seats in the restaurant as did everyone else in the restaurant just to get closer to the music. It was so calming that it would transform you to a puddle of mush. The sweet melodies were so comforting that we actually stayed at the restaurant for the remainder of the wedding reception of which by the way we weren't a part of. It made me feel like I was a fawn skating across a frozen pond in the spring when the dew is still on the roses at the crack of dawn....you should be proud of yourself God has truly bless you with a gift continue to perfect it... good luck in the future... Nate played steel drums for my surprise retirement party. He was great! Very professional. Everyone loved his music. We would hire him again in a minute!

Nate was fantastic! The steel drum was very welcoming for guests before the ceremony. During the cocktail hour, the muric worked great for people to be able to mingle! Music went perfect for out mountain/beach wedding!

Nate is an incredible musician! With little direction he did exactly what I always wanted at my wedding ceremony AND reception. I didn't want the traditional wedding music for my ceremony (although he would have been highly qualified for that as well), I wanted something rich and soulful that connected me to my ancestors and the earth (it was an outdoor wedding). I walked down the isle to the sounds of African drumming, soft but powerful at the same time. Nate played along with a saxophone and a vocalist for the processional, and also unaccompanied at times, and could transition from one to another with ease. For the reception, Nate played the Steel Drums outside on the patio for nearly the entire time; he played a mix of Latin, jazz, pop, soul, anything you can think of and also took requests! I was amazed at his musical expertise and my guests still ask about Nate- I could not keep anyone inside the banquet room, they all wanted to be outside listening to Nate's music!!!! I would highly recommend hiring Nate for any occasion. He is musically flexible and can cater to a range of clientele.
