Earl Vaults – Saxophonist
Earl Vaults is the founder of New Vision and a passionate saxophonist who has studied under the renowned Harvey Pittel, the world's second greatest classical saxophonist. Earl's impressive career includes performances with the Manhattans, tours with Ike Turner, and collaborations with Barry White. His visionary leadership and musical prowess have been the driving force behind the band's success.
Bobby Allen – Keyboardist/Musical Director
With over 30 years of musical experience, Bobby Allen is a master of both the piano and the organ. Since 2012, he has served as the Music Director at his church, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to New Vision. Bobby has done various shows/tours with different artists such as Higher Authority, MLK Community Choir San Diego, and Jason Mraz. Bobby's talent as a producer further enriches the band's dynamic sound. As the Musical Director of New Vision , his deep understanding of music theory and arrangement ensures each performance is a masterpiece.
James Hunt – Bass
James Hunt's musical journey began in San Diego, where he taught himself to play bass by ear. He later honed his skills under the guidance of esteemed bassists Bob Magnusson and Kristin Korb. Music is James's second career and lifelong passion, one that he vows never to retire from.
Weldon Cook, Sr. – Lead and Background Vocals
Weldon Cook, Sr. has been immersed in music for over 50 years, starting with drums and piano. He is currently the worship leader at two churches and lends his powerful voice as both lead and background vocalist for New Vision. Weldon's rich vocal tones and heartfelt delivery resonate deeply with audiences.
Justice Bailey – Drummer/Percussionist
Justice Bailey brings 20 years of musical experience to New Vision. She holds a bachelor's degree in music with a concentration in jazz studies, percussion, and music media. Currently pursuing a degree in music therapy, Justice's rhythmic expertise and passion for healing through music add a unique dimension to the band's performances.
Felicia Daniel – Lead and Background Vocals
Felicia Daniel's love for the arts began at an early age. She has graced numerous stage plays and sings with her church choir. As a soprano with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir, Felicia performs in their annual "All about the Blues" cabaret show. Her vibrant and versatile voice is a cornerstone of New Vision vocal harmony.
Steve Gooden – Organist/Keyboardist
Steve Gooden has over 40 years of musical experience and is a renowned piano teacher in the San Diego area. As an original member of New Vision, his exceptional skills on the organ and keyboard are integral to the band's sound. Steve's dedication to his craft and his community make him a cherished member of the group.
Jorge Villalobos – Guitar
Jorge Villalobos, a self-taught musician since the age of 12, has been playing guitar in various styles and churches for over 15 years. His versatility extends to drums and music production, making him a multifaceted asset to New Vision. Jorge's passion for music and his ability to adapt to different genres enrich the band's musical tapestry.
Depending on the venue we can bring our own sound equipment. Ideally we'd like the venue to provide speakers (house and stage monitors), electricity, and wireless microphones. We bring our own instruments when needed.
