Flattering sketch portraits are an entertaining ice-breaker for your guests and a lasting keepsake they can take home. Noa draws approximately 8-15 people an hour depending on the level of detail you've requested. Style can range from simple "cartoony" black line to more detailed with gray or color shading added for a realistic effect. Small bodies doing activities can be added, but take longer. For faster drawing time, only heads and shoulders are suggested. A small table and three chairs are needed for set-up at your event. Three hour minimum required for events outside a 60 mile radius of Providence, RI.
Noa's Art was a great addition to our family party for our young son, but with many adult guests! We originally hired another caricature artist who wasn't able to make it to our wedding due to a family emergency. Without us ever knowing there was a problem, Noa appeared in his place. Noa was entertainment at a corporate event that we planned. All the attendees gravitated to her line, so she kept rather busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time at her table. At one point, the lights dimmed on us, and she had her own table lamp that she brought out, so she's super prepared, too!

We just held our 10th annual fundraiser over the weekend and we added caricatures to our lineup of vendors this year and Noa came and was amazing. She communicated very well pre-event, she arrived early, she settled in, and her art work was FANTASTIC! She works very well with families and was able to communicate well with them as the line and time frame to get pictures done was long all the time yet all her guests were fine waiting and loved the artwork. Quick, realistic sketch portraits (caricatures) that actually make people look good, not goofy. Noa's Art only takes up a small area of your party, requiring either a small table and several chairs, or an existing table such as a dining or kitchen table. Caricatures are entertainment and party favor in one: it's very entertaining to watch a blank piece of paper transform into a recognizeable portrait with just a few marks of the pen in a few short minutes. Guests are amazed and captivated by the process! The favor is a timeless keepsake that guests will actually want to frame and hang up, because they look so much like themselves or their loved ones. Everyone deserves to look good on paper, and that is the goal of Noa's Art. Many people who "hate to have their picture taken" love their portrait by Noa's Art.
Noa Teplow Juarez has been drawing people from a young age. Her total professional caricature experience has been 30 years of serving clients at birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, showers, grad parties, and corporate events. Noa was born in Israel but grew up in California. She came to Rhode Island to go to art college (RISD), and has stayed ever since. She loves living in the Ocean State because she is centrally located to serve many areas of New England. Noa loves working with people and considers every person's face a work of art just waiting to be put on paper. Noa has also worked as an art teacher for the past 15 years. She loves to introduce young people to the wonders (and fun!) of art. She doesn't mind if a group of children gather around her and watch her draw at your event. She will patiently explain how she works, and the kids will be captivated. Noa's favorite moments in her career are when people she drew as young children come back to be drawn as adult, or to have their children drawn!
Set-up: Either at an existing table such as a dining or kitchen table with chairs, or using a small portable table with several chairs. Natural lighting (window) or close to lamps or overhead lighting is ideal, but Noa can bring a lamp, in which case access to an outlet will be needed.
Noa can draw 8-12 faces an hour. 8 would be if you are requesting color, small bodies doing activities, or increased detail; 12 would be just heads and shoulders, black and white with shading; If only black line is used, rate can be as many as 15 faces per hour.
Noa uses archival black brush markers which are waterproof, fade proof and acid free on card stock white paper. Shading is added either with a black color pencil stick or acid-free gray markers. She provides a clear sleeve to protect each drawing.
