We booked the Messy Cookers through NOLA Swing for our wedding, and they were exactly what we had in mind. I had my heart set on a Dixie Land band for our ceremony, and I’m really glad we found these guys.
Leading up to the event, all communication with NOLA Swing and the Messy Cookers was clear and easy. The band showed up on time, dressed well. They brought all of their own equipment. And they played exactly what we wanted to hear, and did a great job doing it. They even played a song that wasn’t listed on their repertoire.
They gave us a perfect start to a perfect night. Thank you, Alex and the Messy Cookers!
I always enjoy working with NOLA Swing for events. Jayna is very easy to work with, and has many different options to choose from. I highly recommend this as a one stop shop for all sorts of New Orleans entertainment!
You're only as good as the people you surround yourself with! As an event planner, this couldn't be more true and when you're producing an event for event professionals, you absolutely must work with the best for every event element. We had the pleasure of working with NOLA Swing for the Esprit Awards Gala in 2015 and they did not disappoint! They provided engaging first class entertainment that made the night one to remember! Thank you for being the best of the best!
I have known Jayna for many years and have had the honor of performing with her several times in Memphis, New Orleans, and New York. She is a very talented vocalist and entertainer. All of her musicians are top notch. She is a consummate professional and very easy to work with. Jayna is also an incredible dancer and dance teacher, adding another level of fun to any event. I would highly recommend her for any event that needs great music!
I hired Jayna and the Sazerac Sunrise Band for an event in a small private space above the Napoleon House here in New Orleans. The music was fantastic as were the burlesque performances she coordinated for me. I am in no way joking when I tell you Jayna's Christmas CD has been in every car I've owned since 2012! Jayna is one of the sweetest, most talented, and easiest to work with people you'll meet!
Jayna Morgan & The Sazerac Sunrise Jazz Band, sponsored by Nola Swing, set the tone for our entire FestiGals New Orleans Women's Weekend Experience with her sultry sounds at our opening reception. She was personable, entertaining and an absolute doll. Our ladies loved her!
Jayna and her crew were so awesome! I had some special requests she took the time to learn ahead of time and they kept the party going and brought the true spirit of New Orleans to all of our guests.
Working with Jayna and NOLA Swing is great - they will Jazz up any event, have access to numerous talented groups playing all types of music and will take care of all the details for all your entertainment needs.
NOLA Swing was wonderful to work with! From start to finish, Jayna provided exceptional customer service and our guests were very pleased with the jazz duo. Many of our guests noted how lovely it was to have live music at our cocktail reception. Thank you NOLA Swing!
We cannot recommend enough The Messy Cookers and Jayna with NOLA Swing for our Second Line! My husband and I were absolutely amazed at the professionalism and fun that the brought to our wedding. All of our guest were from out of town and had no clue what a second line was, but now want one for every event. Jayna also help in getting the permits and making sure that the band showed up on time. Being that this was a destination wedding I cannot say enough on how they all went above and beyond emailing me to make sure that everything was in order before our big day.

NOLA Swing specializes in New Orleans entertainment but branches out to various genres. Owned by Jayna Morgan Decuers, who has a Masters of Music and a CPCE (Certified Professional in Catering and Events) certification, NOLA Swing guarantees a fun and exciting event due to our professional education and experience in dance, music and event management.
Since 1984, Jayna has studied all forms of dance, from tap to jazz to ballet to hip hop. While still in high school, she began swing dancing in the fall of 1997 with her friend, Matt Cohen. In 1998, she enrolled at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and met Huy Pham, a Lindy Hop dancer from California. With the neo-swing movement and her passion for swing dancing, she became the head of GWU’s Jitterbugs Swing Society, which offered Lindy Hop lessons by some of the world’s most renowned instructors, produced the first ever Inter-Collegiate Swing Dance Competition, and hosted dances with up to 400 attendees. Jayna has also competed at the Virginia State Open and the American Lindy Hop Championship. Meanwhile, Jayna pursued her music degree and worked at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the special events department.
Jayna began singing jazz at the George Washington University in 1998. After receiving her BA in music with a concentration in classical voice in 2003, she returned to her hometown of New Orleans. As a swing and Charleston dancer and instructor, Jayna would frequent the jazz clubs dancing to every jazz band in the city, and would often sing a song or two.
In early 2005, Jayna and former dance partner Michael Norris formed NOLA Swing, an organization that promoted the teaching and love of swing dancing in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina, Michael moved away; however, Jayna stayed and has been blessed to work under the artistic direction of international instructor and world champion Nathalie Gomes. In addition, Jayna and her friend Ellen Boyer formed the professional Charleston dance troupe, The Frenchmen Street Flappers, and can be seen performing around town. Jayna was also one of the founding members of the New Orleans Fleur de Lindy Exchange.
Since then, Jayna has continued to work in Catering Sales and Event Management as a consultant for hotels, restaurants, venues and private clients while pursuing her professional career as a jazz vocalist.
NOLA Swing works with each customer on a one-by-one basis. Depending on the space, audio visual requirements and budget, we'll come up with a customized proposal that's right for you.
