We had Spidey& Rapunzel come to our birthday party for kids ages 1-6. It was a big hit. I was impressed by the costume quality and “in character” performances by both. I was impressed that the performers called me the day before to go over details about the party and who was coming and what we wanted them to do. They made sure they arrived together and unnoticed - to make a huge surprise entrance. Both Spidey and Rapunzel were great with the kids—from the 1 year old baby to the 6 year old—-they spent time to interact one on one with each child—- and did so age appropriately with each of them. I was worried that the birthday girl - only one years old- would be scared and cry, but she did not. My kids are big Disney and Marvel fans, and we are Disney Magic Key passholders, so my kids are used to seeing their fav characters at Disneyland and at the DCA Avenger’s Campus, and so they’re also very knowledgeable and used to how they look, act and appear when they’ve met them in the past.
But Spidey and Rapunzel did not disappoint! In fact, my kids concluded that Spidey and Raphael must have driven over right from Disneyland to meet us. My kids know so many details about the princesses and Marvel world and their stories, including all the sequels, comics, and books. Spidey & Rapunzel were on it and “in character” at all times and didn’t falter on the details. We had MATTHEW as Spider Man and he knew a lot about his character, comics, movies, and all of Spidey’s friends/Avengers — he was never stumped by my kids asking questions and talking about different powers, different villains and their storylines. I was in heaven watching him play balloon “sword fight” with my kids (at my kids’ request). He ran around and played with them - in character- just like a kid himself. My kids asked him if he’d please come back for our next birthday in March. Poor Matthew must have had to make 10+ balloon animals just for my 4 kids ;) We had TAYLOR as Rapunzel. I chose Taylor from several options based on her photos (in various character outfits from Belle to Ariel to Rapunzel to Anna), because she was adorable, versatile, absolutely had that special *Disney *look, and has her sweet Disney dimples with her sweet smile. Taylor did not disappoint. She even brought Pascale with her — which was a great idea because she had Pascale interact with with the kids. Rapunzel did face painting for the kids and had lots of options for them to choose. She chatted them up and interacted with them the entire time. Rapunzel sat down and had story time with the kids and kept their attention the whole time, and was not thrown off by their interrupted comments and questions to her about her story. One thing that especially impressed me about Taylor was that my 4 year old happened to fall and scuff her knee. She was crying, upset and ran away, and didn’t want to join the cake and "happy bday song." Taylor approacher her to comfort her, which I thought would not be successful from a stranger. But Taylor quickly brought her around to smiles again.
