From the first note you can tell he is a seasoned professional player who takes you on a musical journey to far away places such as Africa, Hawaii and Madagascar”
Paul has performed at numerous venues including small intimate ones, clubs, regional and major international music festivals in the US and Canada, being selected as a finalist in Guitar Player Magazine’s International Finger style Guitar Competition honored him as an elite level artist. Paul plays lovely and exciting finger style guitar, always rhythmic, at times fast and athletic, at times amazingly emotional and moving.
I have hired Paul Prince several times including indoor corporate events and outdoor events, he is a great performer that plays incredible music and is always a pleasure to work with.

An audience member can expect an inspiring performance unlike they have ever heard. Plus I can tailor my sets
to the needs of a specific gig. I play instrumental melodic yet innovative music ranging from Django Reinhardt and Claude Debussy arranged for solo to my own New Acoustic, Americana and Worldbeat styles. I talk a bit but mainly play - and I do enjoy entertaining an audience. I have played big stages (Edmonton and WOMAD USA) and little ones. I love performing and taking the guitar where it has not gone before and building a connection to the audience by
playing from the heart.
I play solo acoustic and electric guitar, originals and a complimentary blend of styles from Hawaiian Slack key to Americana, from Classical and Claude Debussy piano on guitar , to Jazz and Blues yet I approach each differently. I have been featured on Afropop WORLDWIDE and was one of 2 US finalists in a '94 guitar player magazine competition. I love performing and inspiring happy events by making
guitar sing!
I have my own sweet hi fidelity sound system that can cover small to medium sized rooms or big stages if miked. I play instrumental electric and acoustic and create a wide sound with different parts happening simultaneously. I tap on occasion and love playing harmonics of various forms. When the situation is right, I can also bring additional equipment to make it sound like a bassist is accompanying me. I can loop but usually enjoy playing without looping.
My set lists are dependent on the type of gig, if its a wedding I play happy African, Hawaiian and Swing plus my original, all very upbeat and positive. I can play a few covers ( Allman Brothers "Blue sky" is a favorite using looping to create multiple parts and Pony Boy, Jessica etc) and some vintage Hendrix songs like Pali Gap, Voodoo Child, and many others. Some times, I play only acoustic originals depending on the occasion.
Michael Hedges, Allman Brothers, Thomas Mapfumo Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins,
Claude Debussy and Scott Joplin.
