popShop

popShop is an upbeat, energetic, professional 5-piece band that plays a diverse set of pop and rock music that can be honed to each venue, event, client, or couple. During a private event, popShop can play any part of the schedule, as a full group, or a smaller segment (solo, duo, trio). They are musically trained to cover anything from classical guitar and piano at a ceremony to any kind of cocktail needs (solo, duo, trio or full band: jazz, pop, acoustic, with or without vocals), and then rock it out as the night moves on.
Led by MC Eric, all of the members in the front can sing lead and harmony. The sets cover some of the classic and beloved hits and dive deep into the catalog for surprise songs everyone loves as well. The band is experienced in all genres, but really turns it up a notch when it hits the rock elements of the night.
Eric has MCd, and been the band leader, for hundreds of weddings and high end events, and prides himself on being organized, easy-going, communicative and flexible; always keeping the needs of the client front and center. Crowd engagement is one of the band's fortes.
popShop can be expanded to include a female vocalist, horns, percussion, etc for an additional fee.
popShop has played nightclub venues, casinos, bars, weddings, B'nai Mitzvot, corporate events and theme nights. They can play an evening of 70s, 80s, 90s, or 2000s hits, or a specific genre like a disco night or an all classic rock or yacht rock show, on request to make a themed evening shine.
Sometimes clients do not want the cookie cutter, big wedding band when it comes to private events/parties/weddings, but feel nervous about hiring a smaller group. popShop can cover a vast amount of the classic material, but also bring the fire and excitement of a club band, all at an affordable price point. Having a smaller, cohesive unit that knows each other well and loves playing music together, makes it easy to personalize an event/show/party/wedding's song list to the needs of the client with fewer moving parts. We have the accessibility and flexibility of a DJ with the live energy of a band. We love what we do and that joy is shared with the crowd.

Eric Scott Klein is the MC and Band Leader of popShop. Eric quips that he is "classically-trained but schooled in rock!” He brings positivity, and energetic engagement to his performances. He has sung for crowds of 100,000 fans at the World Cup and has performed as many as 375 shows in just one year. Eric attended conservatories at Carnegie-Mellon University and The Manhattan School of Music for Voice and studied privately with vocal guru Norma Garbo.
Eric is the singer/songwriter of award-winning, international recording artist Days Before Tomorrow. He has shared the stage with artists ranging from The Pointer Sisters to Mandy Moore to A Flock of Seagulls, from Ace Frehley to .38 Special! He has some upcoming film credits as an actor and is known to sing harmony to anything while driving. Eric has a deep love for performing and making each evening memorable and collaborative.
popShop is the capstone band in his career. He looks forward to making your event “pop” as a modern, upbeat, elegant, and transcendent success.

1 Drummer with a standard 5-piece kit.
A minimum of 3 monitor mixes are needed.
All band members can provide IEMs and most prefer them to keep stage volume at a minimum.
We can provide some basic lighting for free and bring extra for a fee.
