I am a versatile freelance trumpet player with over ten years of professional performing experience in a wide variety of styles: jazz, Latin, rock, pop, musical theater, classical, etc.
Mark played "Here comes the Bride" and the Wedding March for my daughter's wedding at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville. He played without accompaniment and the tone and quality from his trumpet was breathtaking. I think his playing brought many onlookers at the hotel to stop and watch. It really was a beautiful ceremony and Mark's playing made it so much more special. All my guests kept telling me how wonderful it was to have such a talented musician play. Mark - thanks for your willingness to play at the wedding.
Response from Mark Morgan:
Thanks so much Kelly! It was a beautiful ceremony and I'm glad everything went smoothly that day. I wanted to find you after and thank you in person but weddings are always so busy after the ceremony. All the best to you and your family.
Played every song requested and sounded beautiful.
Mark and Ryan arrived on time and played great. They really helped create the perfect atmosphere for our event.
Mark was so great to work with and his music really made our anniversary / vow renewal party special. He even played a special request for us as we walked down the aisle to renew our vows. He was very prompt in responding before the event and was accommodating when rain forced us to change the location on the day of. We would book him again in a second.

As a trumpet player, composer, arranger, and educator, Mark Morgan is continually gaining recognition as a thriving young artist. Always looking to expand his musical repertoire, Mark is fluent in a variety of musical styles ranging from musical theater to authentic New York salsa. While he is most known for his soulful live performances, his creative talents extend further. Various collegiate ensembles, as well as many New York based performing ensembles, have performed Mr. Morgan’s compositions and arrangements.
Mark began his formal music training in his school band program in Tennessee. After graduating from Giles County High School, Mark began studying music performance at Tennessee Technological University with trumpet instructor Charles Decker and jazz studies director Chris McCormick. Mark later switched his educational focus from trumpet performance to music education, but performing for live audiences has always been Mark’s first passion and priority. Mr. Morgan further honed his craft in local big bands and with several of the university’s performance ensembles. At the end of his undergraduate career, Mark began exploring composing and arranging and later formed his own jazz ensemble. Also while studying in Tennessee, Mark was a Blue Note scholarship recipient to the Skidmore Jazz Institute and a finalist in the Jazz Solo Division of the National Trumpet Competition.
Upon receiving his degree, Mark began performing in the United States, Mexico, and Europe working for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines. During his cruise tenure, he enjoyed the challenge of playing backup to such great artists as “The Drifters,” Lenny Welch, Los Angeles based violinist and recording artist Doug Cameron, and motion picture recording pianist Pearl Kaufman. In addition to extensive performing, Mark continued his private studies with Nashville based trumpet player and studio artist Steve Patrick.
Since he first arrived in New York, Mark has been very active in the local musical landscape. He has performed at an exhaustive list of special functions and events for celebrities such as Donald Trump, Brooke Shields, and Nigel Barker, numerous New York State congressmen and senators, and even made a cameo appearance in a music video with Latino pop star Luis Miguel. Mark has also had the opportunity to perform at some of the country’s most prestigious performance venues such as The Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, Madison Square Garden, The Chicago Theater, and the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. In addition to an extensive local performance schedule, Mark has performed nationally on multiple musical theater tours which include Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz. In the spring of 2007, Mr. Morgan received his Masters degree in Jazz Performance from SUNY College at Purchase, where he studied with New York based recording artists Ray Vega and Scott Wendholt, as well as jazz trumpet legend Jon Faddis.
