This band will bring you back to a not-too-distant time when songs flowed through AM and FM airwaves like bellbottoms, vinyl spun like pinwheels, and people got together in the name of peace and music's gentle persuasion. Soft rock, yacht rock, folk rock, west coast rock - call it what you will - Public House is like a musical tapestry.
Public House is one of the most interesting and entertaining cover bands in the Niagara region. Their two and three-part harmony vocals were fantastic, their musicianship was polished, and the band's song selections were vast: their repertoire ranged from 60's and 70's rock, to west coast singer- songwriter music and Yacht Rock classics. The group I was with grooved to the music all evening.
I’ve seen Public House a few times and have enjoyed them very much. They take us back to a simpler, more carefree time. Their shared lead and harmony vocals strengthens their diversity to cover everything from breezy easy listening to classic rock music from the ‘60’s onward. They will have you moving your feet on the dance floor, or tapping your toes in your seat.

Public House is a musical community that formed in 2018 when friends James, Mike and Heather got together to play their folk-rock favourites—songs as meaningful and enduringly powerful as their long-time friendship. Taking inspiration from the Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter scene of the 1960s and ’70s, they blended Heather’s vocals, Mike’s percussions and James’ acoustic guitar and bass into their own distinct sound. They quickly realized they had something worth sharing. A band and an idea were born.
The idea was for the band to be a musical version of a public house, the beloved neighbourhood pubs so common in the U.K. Their door was open for musicians who shared this vision of a folk rock community. It wasn’t long before Chris joined the group, bringing keyboard soundscapes and adding vibrant new dimensions to the sound.
Other friends were welcomed to jam and share in some laughs over the next few years. Public House reached its final form as two more kindred spirits joined the group. Sandra’s folk essence and musical versatility enriches the band’s wide range of songs; Anthony completes the circle with his thoughtful and soulfully shaping sounds of lead guitar and bass.
