I am available as DJ Distraction to DJ or KJ if you need to bring karaoke to your party or you just needs someone to get everyone dancing.

For set up I will by default arrive about an hour before I am to perform. I will set up and do a brief sound check. I do understand however that certain events require a different schedule and I remain flexible if set up times need to be adjusted.
During the performance time I play to the crowd, catering song choices to what the audience would most enjoy. I love taking requests and do my best to make sure everyone is having a great time.
When the performance time is over I pack up my equipment and ensure that my work area is left in the condition I found it or better. In most cases I will also make myself available to extend my performance should need be.
Music and entertaining have always been a huge part of my life. I love the way music can bring people together. It has a magical way of turning someone's bad mood into a great mood. None of my friends and loved ones would be a part of my life were it not for music. It is for this reason I choose to help bring music into the lives of as many people I can.
I try to keep it simple and fun for everyone. I did study audio engineering in college, and can make most situations work.

I've been involved with music in some way since the 3rd grade. I've gotten to experience so many fantastic performances over the years. I am originally from Texas, where I currently reside, however I spent most of my grade school days near St. Louis, Missouri. I was greatly influenced from an early age by Jazz and Blues. I recall attending a Jazz camp one summer and getting to play on stage with Maynard Ferguson. As a result of growing up in the Midwest and being a Texan, I have been influences by all genres of music.
