Influences & Inspiration

Our band draws inspiration from a diverse range of musical acts, both past and present, that have left their mark on the music world. Two genres that have particularly influenced us are jam band and bluegrass.

In the realm of jam bands, the improvisational prowess and sense of musical exploration of acts like the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic have been a significant source of inspiration. We admire their ability to create unique, spontaneous musical journeys during their live performances, which have pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved within the context of a song.

On the bluegrass side of things, legendary bands such as The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys, and more contemporary groups like Punch Brothers have had a profound impact on our music. We're captivated by the virtuosity of bluegrass musicians, their tight harmonies, and the storytelling nature of their songs. Bluegrass music's ability to blend tradition with innovation has fueled our desire to incorporate elements of this genre into our own sound.

While we're certainly influenced by these remarkable acts, we also strive to create our own unique musical identity. By merging elements of jam band improvisation with the soulful storytelling of bluegrass, we aim to craft music that resonates with our audience and offers something fresh and exciting within the music scene. Our goal is to pay homage to the greats who have come before us while pushing the boundaries of our own creativity.
