Richard Colliers & The Filthy Rich Band
Richard A. Colliers III was born in Lincoln,Nebraska. Richard blended his talents in 1990 to form the band Filthy Rich; playing primarily Blues and Rock. Richard is the second youngest of eight children, his father had a career in the U.S. Air Force spending his later years in partnership with Rich's mother on staff with the University of Nebraska. Although he maybe a new discovery to Minnesota blues fans, Rich's legend has been growing for 25 years. His first musical Instrument was the Saxophone that he began playing as a teenager. Richard now excels his many talents to include; keyboards, drums, bass, and timbales. As lead vocalist and bass guitarist, he has performed all throughout the world; he has also participated in the U.S.O tours, throughout; Europe ad Greenland with Crosswinds. He has toured with many artists such as; Frankie Beverley, Maze, Everybody's Everything, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, and Green Knight. The Filthy Rich Band's song list includes some 50's Blues and Rock Classics from 6 decades ranging from the 40's through the 90's. Featured in his repretoire are original numbers; ' Spinning Wheel', ' Walk On In', and ' Guaranteed' written by Richard Colliers. He has developed his own rousing renditions of such songs as; B.B Kings ' Caledonia', Stevie Wonder's ' Superstition', and Wilson Pickett's ' Mustang Sally'. When the tempo changes to lean back and slow dancing, Rich is ready with Otis Redding's "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay'' and Buddy Guy's " Leave My Little Girl Alone". This versatile group has performed in several Twin Cities clubs, and has hosted an open Blues Jam on Tuesday nights at Box Car Joe's located in South St. Paul, Minnesota. On a personal level, Rich is the father of a 26 year old son. On stage; he lures his fans in with his voice, eyes and style.
