He prefers to sing mid tempo to slow ballads that stir the emotion the way only this music he loves can. Rickie Johnson was born in Missouri in the blue-collar world of St. Louis with parents who had a love and appreciation for country music.
His interest in music started early, hearing gospel, bluegrass and all his classic country music heroes on the radio. He awakened every morning, while preparing to walk to school, to the Grand Ole Opry TV broadcast. Musically Fed by his mother’s broad record collection and his father’s love for playing the guitar his interest was eagerly encouraged. The additional sounds of the 1960s and 1970s Motown and rock music radio of his teens has forged his ability to bring new life to his favorite classic country covers. He now plays and sings as a solo acoustic entertainer in small to medium venues near or around Salt Lake City, Utah.
