Rintaro Mikami is a drummer, percussionist, composer and educator.
His trio often plays at local restaurants, bar and musical venues and received positive comments from its customers.
Though he constantly plays in several Jazz bands in local Jazz clubs in NYC such as Ornithology Jazz Club, he also plays Funk and Rock music in bars, restaurants, clubs and weddings. He also plays hand percussions for Brazilian, Peruvian, Argentinian, Flamenco and Arabic music.
He is an endorser of Canopus Drums.
Rintaro was brought on as a last minute drum sub for our a few out of town dates and he was so well prepared it was hard to tell he wasn’t the original drummer. His astute awareness and passionate devotion to his art is truly remarkable. The music he learned in such a short time was challenging technically and required a high degree of musicality that he delivered in leaps and bounds. Cannot recommend him enough.
