a solid performance of classic and progressive rock songs - everything from David Bowie and classic Queen, through Rush and up to original material.
Robert Svilpa and Paraesthesia – Seattle based Psychedelic Progressive Hard Rock band that mixes elements of electronic, avant garde, hard rock, pop, symphonic and classic progressive into their melodic and dramatic material. The band initially started as a personal project by Robert Svilpa who released the results as a very limited first release CD in 2000 called “Onion”. The success of that release resulted in a follow up 2005 CD entitled “The Sound of Thoughts” on his own brand new Hyperboreal Music label. Reviews were glowing:
I feel very lucky to have reviewed such fantastic music over the years and Robert Svilpa’s debut The Sound of Thoughts can be counted as one of those… The Sound of Thoughts is a fantastic debut and by far one of the better ones of the year… This is also one of the very few albums I’ve listened to straight through several times and each time enjoying it even more. This is a very recommended album!

Aug 1, 2009 - Robert, Paul and Mark released a CD under the Paraesthesia moniker, entitled “a fine line between…” - a concept album with accompanying short story, a planned short film (release still TBD) which spans the 80 minute duration of the CD. The music written is huge and cinematic in scope - evoking complex moods and dynamic shifts that bring classic film scores to mind with lyrics that build scenes in your mind's eye of an individual living a self-imposed self fulfilling life of disappointment and dealing with the consequences of his self-alienation and isolation from all those things humans need - love, companionship, family, continuity, comfort and ultimately it costs him his sanity.
we can operate on a fairly minimal backline - 3 microphones, a stereo input from keyboard submix, 3 point stage monitoring for vocals and keyboards. Lighting of the stage would be nice. Minimal stage space to have a single keyboard stand, guitar/keyboard/bass amplification and 6 piece drum set.
