I am a songwriter and performer based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. My style successfully mixes traditional, country, folk, blues, and gospel. I've played hundreds of shows in large and small venues, including corporate venues. I've done tailgate parties, micro-breweries, wineries, house concerts, weddings, and corporate events. My sound is typically characterized as laid-back and comfortable.
Ron Ireland puts on a super fine show, and he's also a self-contained musician who's been gigging long enough to know what to do and not do. He has 50 years of musical experience and was doing 150 gigs a year until 2014 when he opened his own venue at his studio. Ron shows up sober and on time, immediately engages the audience, adapts his music to the audience as he goes, and is an exceptionally flexible and capable musician. He writes many of his own songs and also has a huge catalog of well-known favorites. Whatever the occasion, Ron will deliver a fine show. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this fine gentleman from Virginia.

If you're planning an event that needs music for fans of James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Townes Van Zandt, or Guy Clark, I can deliver. I'll play for an hour, or I'll play all night, adjusting to the "feel" of the audience, and keeping the volume appropriate to your needs. I'm always on time, dependable, and easy to work with.
Ron Ireland is a singer-songwriter based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. He was a shy and lonely kid until he found an old Silvertone guitar with three strings and taught himself to play. Ron's voice is a gentle, time-worn instrument, with hope and cynicism coexisting in every note. He is a fingerpicking-style guitarist with wide musical range. An admirer of the guitar style John Fahey called "American Primitive", Ron calls his own style "American Clumsy." Ron says his songs feature “a touch of country, a little blues, a pinch of rockabilly, and some old fashioned finger picking folk songs.” He has performed for the Bland County Festival of Leaves, The Chautauqua Festival, The Abingdon Crooked Road Music Fest and the Blue Ridge Music Center (Member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 674).
My needs are simple, and I have my own sound system that is capable of providing clear sound for crowds of up to 100 people.
