Greetings!
If you need a little motivation I think I can help. I can give talks with a variety of lengths, from 15 minutes to an hour. When we begin our relationship, I like to sit down with you and talk about what you want to highlight. I'll then draw from my experiences and craft a talk for you.
Here's a little bit about my experiences:
After dropping out of High School, I enlisted as a rifleman in the US Army in 1984 and served my first tour in Germany. On my discharge, I returned to College to take a Bachelor's Degree in English before returning to the Army, this time as an Officer. Graduating from Officer Candidate School in 1988, I was assigned to the Army Corps of Engineers and served in that capacity for the bulk of my career.
I was fortunate to have an interesting and varied career, holding leadership positions as a Platoon Leader, twice a Company Commander and once as a Battalion Commander. I've also held a variety of staff positions including Officer Candidate School instructor, Operations and Training Officer, Logistics Officer, Staff Engineer and I ended my career as a Division Chief of Plans.
My career has taken me to many interesting and difficult locations, including many missions in Central America, Eastern Europe, Africa and South-West Asia. In all, my military career sent me to 14 countries on five continents.
I am certainly not a war hero, but I do prides myself on having been an effective, loyal and innovative officer for the United States Army. My awards and decorations include the Combat Action Badge, the Expert Infantryman's Badge, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Counter-Drug Ribbon and the Humanitarian Service Medal. I'm also the proud recipient of the Army Engineer Association deFleury Medal.
Since my retirement I have been serving on the board of directors for a Veteran's Homeless Advocacy group located in Santa Rosa, California.
