Sapsucker is a bluegrass band hailing from Boulder, Co! We play bluegrass standards, original music, and instrumental fiddle tunes. We have sets that can cater to your needs and are happy to accommodate special requests for an additional charge (song requests etc...). We would love to provide the music for your event!
Couldn't have been happier with these guys. Had an outdoor party this weekend and Sapsucker played for three hours. Fantastic music, all around, and they were all super nice, as well.
I'd most definitely recommend them if you're looking for bluegrass. A live band spices up any party. Next time we do this I'll be looking to get them back to do it all again.
Thanks fellas!
We booked Sapsucker as part of our summer concert series at Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland, and they were fantastic. The band was on time and was very quick getting set up (they only had a brief twenty-minute intermission to do so). All the players are exceptionally talented, and perform with a very seasoned bluegrass style that feels nearly effortless. Each piece they presented captivated the audience, who were wanting more and more. If you are looking for a bluegrass band for an upcoming event, I recommend Sapsucker highly. They are unquestionably one of the best bluegrass bands on the front range.
I hired Sapsucker for a party and was very happy. Pre-party communication was great. They showed up on time, the acoustics were perfect, and they are talented as all get-out. I highly recommend.
Response from Sapsucker:
Hi Laura,
Thanks so much for your review! We have a great time playing your event!
So glad we booked them for our event. :) Really low key bluegrass, beautiful harmonies and overall great musicians. Everyone loved it! We would 100% use them in the future.
Response from Sapsucker:
Hi Marissa,
Thank you very much. We enjoyed playing your event!
Thank you for helping make our New Owner Weekend a success! Everyone said how much they enjoyed your music and the welcoming and comfortable environment you created. Only complaint was the audio feedback which was distracting. Otherwise, we enjoyed your time with us. Thank you!
Response from Sapsucker:
Thank you Winnie, we had a lot of fun playing your event!
We hired 10 Cents and a Broken Pick to play at our home during a Progressive Dinner Party. They’re extremely talented and played beautifully!! Having them at our party elevated the event and our guests loved them. Would hire them again in a minute!
Response from Sapsucker:
Thank you Shahla. It was nice playing your party!

Expect a light hearted energetic show filled with uptempo bluegrass standards, instrumental fiddle tunes, blistering solos. The band typically plays as a quartet, but can also perform as a duo, trio, or quintet dependent on your budget and the needs for your event. We also can play song requests for an additional charge if discussed beforehand during the booking process. We would love to work with you to make your event amazing!
Sapsucker was born in Boulder, CO out of the ambition of two friends who loved pickin' fiddle tunes. From there a unique sound blossomed that can only be complimented by a Colorado Kool-Aid. From traditional "Old Time" clawhammer banjo stylings, mandolin runs reminiscent of Monroe, all the way to uptempo train grooves that make you want to drive a Mack truck, we are spicing up bluegrass without losing touch with tradition.
We provide all necessary sound equipment (PA, Mics, Etc...) . We do need access to power in close proximity, we take care of everything else!
