When you hire Sarah Javaux, harpist, you will receive a beautiful performance of musical selections tailored for your event. Whether you are going for a peaceful atmosphere, upbeat background music to get conversations going, or elegant music for your wedding, Sarah Javaux is the harpist for you! She can provide any of these musical program options, and more. When you hire Sarah to play for your event, you can expect her to arrive 30-45 minutes before the event to set up and tune the instrument so that you get your money's worth of harp music. Sarah always dresses in tasteful, conservative clothing that compliments the atmosphere of your event.
Sarah performs on a mahogany Lyon and Healy Concert Grand harp. Sarah's harp has a clear, bright sound that carries well both indoors as well as outdoors. While it is typically not necessary to mic the harp, Sarah is willing to work with whatever sound equipment you have set up.
For each event, Sarah's goal is to provide the perfect musical compliment to your event. This includes dressing to fit the occasion in tasteful, formal gowns and musically professional attire.
Miss Javaux recently returned to the Midwest to continue her music career, after completing a Master of Music in harp performance at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA). Before moving to Philadelphia to study with the Philadelphia Orchestra's principle harpist and earn her Master's degree, Sarah received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music (Wheaton, IL) where she studied with Faye Seeman. At age nine Sarah began studying the harp, and her most recent achievement is performing as a featured artist in the Birch Creek Music Performance Center's Faculty Recital (July 2016, Door County, WI).
If your event is taking place outside, a back-up plan must be set up and used if inclement weather occurs. Because the harp is a large and delicate wooden/stringed instrument, I cannot play in rain or excessive heat, cold, or wind.
