Sempra Sol

Sempra Sol started as the indie dream pop project of Aniel Roderickz. A San Diego native, Aniel’s indie rock/shoegaze/dreampop sound comes from a variety of different influences such as Vampire Weekend, Youth Lagoon, Interpol and The Smashing Pumpkins. Roderickz explains that he creates his music “for the purpose of enjoyment, motivation, and inspiration for myself, friends, and anyone I can reach,” which is clearly exhibited in his dreamy, uplifting melodies and contemplative lyrics.

From an early age, Aniel took an interest in music and computers. During high school, he had the privilege of playing piano in various locations throughout San Diego and around the country. Now in college, his sound has evolved and continues to evolve into Sempra Sol, which is now comprised of Roderickz, Conor Nordberg on drums, and Giancarlo Dongo on bass. Recent additions include Leah on vocals and Aidan on guitar.

Sempra Sol currently has a single out on Spotify, “The Breakdown”. Another single is planned to be released sometime in the next few months with the eventual goal of releasing an EP within the year.
