Based in Temecula, serving all Southern Cal
I'm Reverend Doctor Jeff Saville (call me Jeff!) and I have a passion for helping couples express their love and commitment for each other in a celebration that recognizes the importance of God in their relationship.
I led my first wedding in 1987 after being licensed for ministry by the Evangelical Covenant Church. Since then, I have conducted weddings in seven states and three continents as part of my overall ministry.
Originally from the San Diego area, in my late teens I realized I wanted to serve God and people in ministry. Toward that end, I earned bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in ministry. I have served in churches and various forms of pastoral ministry continuously since 1982 in nearly every state and territory in America. I have lived in overseas for six years and visited more than thirty countries. I have served people of about every Christian denomination you can think of, in worship, in counseling, in crisis, and in cooperative community support efforts. I have been happily married to my wife Rebecca since 1988 and together we have three children of whom we are immensely proud.
Since 1992, I have been certified as a "Prepare and Enrich" Counselor by Life Innovations to use their online premarital counseling assessment for premarital and marriage counseling. In 2011 I received certification to serve as an instructor for PAIRS (Practical Application for Intimate Relationship Skills) and since then have helped lead more than 350 couples to strengthen their marriages at weekend Marriage Enrichment Retreats. All of my training and experience give me the tools to help you make your marriage and family relationships fulfilling, rewarding, and long-lasting--hopefully lifelong!
No special requirements--I lead weddings indoors and out at every setting you can think of--I even led a wedding in a hot-air balloon!
September 17, 2016 • 1:00pm - 2:00pm | Ron and Barbara |
I have several different types of ceremonies I can provide that are shorter or more substantial, and some with more or less of a religious flavor--although every wedding I lead has at least one passage from the Bible (you can choose from many options), at least one short prayer, and I mention Jesus Christ at least once. Beyond that, I am very flexible.
Language Options:
I can speak either SPANISH or GERMAN for portions of your ceremony so that guests who are more comfortable in those languages will feel included. (Additional $50 fee)
Special Ceremonies:
Here are only some of the other ceremonial elements we can include at various points in the wedding—but I’m wide open to your ideas.
Near The Beginning:
• Roses To Mothers Ceremony (Near Beginning Of Overall Ceremony)
• Gift to Child/Children (being blended into a family)
• Remembrance Of Loved Ones Not Present
After the Ring Exchange:
• Sand Ceremony
• Wine-Blending Ceremony
• Unity Cross Ceremony
• Love Letter And Wine Box Ceremony
• Tying The Knot Ceremony
• Branding Of Wood Ceremony
• Cord Of Three Strands Ceremony
• Release Of Doves or Butterflies
• Veil, Cord & Coins Ceremony
• Reading Of The Hands Ceremony
• Jumping The Broom Ceremony
• Other?
As the Couple Departs:
• Blowing Bubbles
Couples are responsible to provide the items necessary for the ceremony—candles, sand/containers, wine, etc.
I provide Christian ceremonies, but I realize different couples will want to dial back religious references. My background as a military chaplain has given me the ability to listen to each couple and adjust the various elements so that the ceremony matches the couples spiritual life.
I have a strong voice, but for your guests to hear you speak your vows, it's good for your DJ to provide a microphone and speakers-- or I can provide them for $40 fee.
