Talented, personable, creative, and punctual. As a musician, I've played in a couple different groups/musical event settings with Maria, and taken some lessons from her as well. She's is ALWAYS on time, prepared, and able to adapt to a new situation at the drop of a hat. Her ear is impeccable, she is extremely knowledgable about her craft, and she takes her work very seriously - while somehow also maintaining a friendly and comfortable environment for the client and her fellow musicians. It's rare when you get to work with a musician with all of these skills in one place, I couldn't recommend her enough!
Maria took our idea of playing “Ablassen” as I walked down the aisle and learned our song to perfection. She also agreed to play along as a surprise to our guests to two songs during the reception. Thanks Maria!
Maria was very professional and we absolutely loved her.
Maria did a fantastic job to enhance the music for our Christmas liturgies this year! She was extremely flexible and had great suggestions about how to best incorporate her trumpet playing in our program. It was very easy to work with her and she did an excellent job with balance and blending in with the rest of the ensemble. Many parishioners commented on what a wonderful job she did!
Our community was blessed to have Maria on trumpet and Emily on snare drum playing an extensive selection of patriotic tunes that delighted all our guests. It was made even more special by our performers warmth with their audience and ability to carry the room. We were encouraged to sing along if we knew the tune and the room was filled with voices which brought more joy and more fun to our Veteran's Day Celebration.
Maria prepared a wonderful set of patriotic songs to play for our residents at our older adult community(The Bellettini). There was so much joy and happiness brought to them hearing the sounds of her trumpet and feeling recognized, appreciated and honored for their sacrifices of bravery and commitment to Our freedom and peace.
Maria arrived early and was attentive to all the details. She made a burial service very special.
Maria did such a wonderful job on our Palm Sunday service earlier this year. Her beautiful playing was such a blessing and addition to our service. She is such a professional and yet easy to work with - such a joy to have her be part of a blessed part of our church life. You will not be disappointed if you have her participate in your event or church service.
I've worked with Maria in several musicals and have always been impressed with her level of musicianship and professionalism. She's very easy to work with, very dependable, and a great player! Highly recommended!
Maria was hired to perform in a brass quintet for my wedding, as well as in a small jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour. She was very professional in every communication we shared and in her performances. She participated in two rehearsals where she was always prepared and shared knowledgable information with all. On the day of, Maria played beautifully! I still have family and friends that attended my wedding who talk about "that trumpet!" It rang through the church so well and I was honored to walk down the aisle to the gorgeous sounds. During the cocktail hour, more instruments were added to the brass quintet to make a jazz group. Maria showed knowledge of having classical chops and the ability to play in MANY other genres/styles of music as we asked for everything from jazz to movie scores. I absolutely would hire her again!
I hired Maria for a Christmas Morning service. While the service was early, she arrived on time. Playing was superb, with great blending with the organ and singers, and great tone. Highly recommended!
She is phenomenal, professional and kind. She surely made out event unforgettable!
Two thumbs up.

I can provide my musical services as a solo trumpet, or as part of a brass quintet (2 trumpets, French horn, trombone, tuba). I will either perform the repertoire you have selected, or I can provide my own. I can work with you to create an arrangement of your choice for an additional cost.
To receive the most accurate quote, it is helpful to send:
-expected duration of performance
-music that will be played (do you have specific repertoire in mind?)
-number and duration of any rehearsals, if applicable
I am happy to work within your budget to find the best solution for your event.
Maria Price is a trumpet player currently based in the Seattle area. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Ethnomusicology at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Maria is originally from Boston, where she has played with the Brookline Symphony Orchestra, New England Philharmonic, Boston Chamber Symphony, and Waltham Symphony Orchestra. Maria plays in several brass quintets, and can provide a brass quintet for any event or ceremony.
Maria specializes as a solo trumpeter for weddings, church events, and other religious ceremonies. She also frequently plays in pit orchestras for musical theatre performances.
Maria received her Master of Music in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory in 2014. While at The Boston Conservatory, she studied trumpet with Steve Emery of the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra. Maria returned to her alma mater to teach a course in Music Theory and Ear Training to Boston Conservatory graduate students in 2015.
Maria graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Music Education and Music Performance from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2012. During this time, she studied with Joseph Foley, and served as principal trumpet of the UMass Lowell Orchestra and the UMass Lowell Wind Ensemble. She was awarded "Best Musician" by the UMass Lowell Marching Band during the (phone number hidden)1 season.
Detailed performance resume and live recordings available upon request.
Minimal set-up required.
For solo trumpet: 1 music stand is needed, 1 chair optional.
For brass quintet: 5 music stands and 5 chairs are needed.
Please note that for solo trumpet players, the nature of our instrument means that we require frequent breaks during a performance. For this reason it is often helpful to hire a trumpet player with some sort of accompanist, like a pianist. I can assist you with finding an accompanist if you would like. Please have this in mind when planning your event. With a brass quintet, the ensemble is arranged so that each player gets time to rest while the whole group is playing, making continuous playing possible and seamless.
